When I heard about this I was giddy as a school girl. Put it on physical media and I'll buy it right now.

If there's a concern, I think it might look a little TOO much like Turtles in Time for the SNES. I enjoy 16-bit graphics but the stages in the preview don't look very interesting.

I enjoyed the Turtles in Time arcade game (not so much the SNES version) a ton when I was a teen. I don't see a problem with this being too much like Turtles in Time since it's been a good while since it's been made available for download to my knowledge. The closest we got was the Arcade 1up line. I'd say it's a little wrong to consider it a rehash or whatever nearly 30 years after the fact. I can't wait.

The scene with the foot soldiers trying to pose as innocent office workers suggests a bit of self-awareness that'll hopefully give this game its own identity.
I like that it's in keeping with the spirit of the original, rather than desperately trying to apologize for its own existence ala the Battletoads reboot.

Excellent. I play through turtles in time annually, just so great. I’m definitely getting this day one.

I think it looks very much like that TMNT game on the GBA: https://videogamecritic.com/gbatz.htm?e=75736#rev1036

Resolution and sprite size aside, the new game looks more like Scott Pilgrim to me.
Just seeing the 4 of them run together, they have way more personality than previous games using this formula.
And the GBA game is trying really hard to be dark and gritty, while this new game seems an intentional rejection of that aesthetic.

Funny thing is, this game is by the same devs that did BOTH games. I'm familar enough with Tribute Games to know that the founding members worked on the Scott Pilgrim game, but knowing that they tackled TMNT before hand is news to me! I suppose this game is their way of giving the TMNT another go the way they're better known for.

Maybe this game will get to be on IOS as well! I wouldn't mind! Besides the main quartet, perhaps they'll include the ability to play as Splinter, Casey Jones, and perhaps even April as well!
