Metal Slug Discontinued?

Postby JustLikeHeaven1 » February 10th, 2007, 11:07 am

I have been reading around the net that Metal Slug Anthology (Wii) is no longer in print.  Whatever is left on the shelves might be the only games available.  I personally haven't had any problem finding the games, but I was wondering if there was any truth to this.  I might just pick up a copy and sell it later.

If you have a Wii and like Metal Slug do yourself a favor and pick the game up while you still can.  For $40 its a great value and one of the better two player games on the system.

What? I preordered this months ago from DVDboxoffice, they still haven't shipped it, and now the game is out of print? Damn, that's the last time they get my business.

It is a great value, but I heard that it forces you to use the Wiimote.  It has 5 different settings, But I heard every single one uses motion sensors in some form.   Why?   Why can't it just use the classic controller?   Because of this (and the fact I can't find a Wii anywhere) I'm waiting for its PS2 release.

it doesn't force you to use the wii remote, you can easily use the gamecube controllers which is what i prefer, it also allows you to just turn the remote sideways and use it like the old nes controller with no motion sensitivity

I sold my Metal Slug Anthology (Wii) version and don't regret it. It is the most sloppy compilation I had ever seen. It is bad that the classic controller is not supported. I emaled SNK about this and their response was that Nintendo did not give them the support for the classic controller. So, I replied, why doesn't it support the Gamecube controller's D-Pad? No response.

It is a sloppy port, and I've decided to sell mine and not buy from SNK again.

If they would just let you map the grenade to a button on the wimote..It sucks because you could tell it would be great with a few modifications.
