Oh man. Everyone wants a Wii now. I went to gamestop and saw Numerous people come in and ask for the Wii. They all left Disappointed. The Wii is such a difficult thing to find now. The PS3 on the other hand is everywhere. I see about 5 boxes of them every time I go to a K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or other places that sell these.
I want to know if any of you guys have seen more than 5 Wiis at place just sitting there. I have not. Only PS3's.

I have not seen a single Wii for sale so far. I heard earlier that the PS3 would be harder to find, but it seems that this has reversed. It might not be until summer until you can actually find one. At least they sell well unlike the PS3 that no one is buying right now. In the meantime I have went towards playing Genesis games and getting old VHS tapes.

Actually, I saw five Wiis at a Walmart two weeks ago on a Sunday and I asked a friend if he had one yet. He said he bought one, but they all were sold in about 10 minutes.

I haven't seen a single Wii for sale since I got my hands on one back in December. The demand is high and Nintendo is a situation it hasn't been since the early 90s...they have one of the hottest systems on the market again.
To say that nobody is buying a PS3 is naive. The systems are in short supply depending on where you go in the country. So yes, while some of you will claim to see PS3 rotting away on the shelf, others are also going to say that they haven't seen one yet. It all depends on where you live, but Sony is still pushing alot of systems. Where I live I have seen a handful of them, but they sell out rather quickly. Sony is selling just as many Xbox 360 as Microsoft did a year ago. If Nintendo wasn't on fire, Sony's issues wouldn't be magnified.
The 360 was under intense scrutiny until about Sept 06. It had awful production problems and the hardware is some of the least reliable in recent memory. The PS3 will be no different (well the hardware is certainly more reliable). Once more games start coming out the system is going to be fine. Come Q407 people will probably be forgetting the launch problems of the PS3. All it takes is one or two really good games and people forget everything at launch.

I got a Wii today at Toys R' Us. They got 37 systems in, and I was about the 28th person in line to get one. I got to the store about 10 minutes before it opened. If I had gotten there 10 minutes after it opened, I would have been out of luck. This was the first time I had ever seen one. Before today I wasn't even sure if they actually existed.

I've never seen anything quite like this. Not just the consoles, mind you, but the controls as well.
I pre-ordered Wiiplay just to get the extra remote back in December, when the scheduled release was January. I was pretty mad when Nintendo moved it into February. I almost cancelled the preorder.
Well, glad I didn't. Turns out I still can't even find a Wii-mote! I'll happily pay the extra ten bucks for a few more minigames to finally get to 4 Wii-motes.

Nintendo has done an amazing PR job. I have seen them in about 3 stores over the past couple weeks. I even saw a used one which was odd. Anyway, I think it will be a couple of more months before supply outstrips demand. Nintendo is selling a ton of units off potential and one or two decent games...amazing. I still believe the system is going to start tanking when "non-gamers" lose interest and people realize there are no games coming out for it outside of first party titles (Gamecube all over again). I can't wait until 2008, then we'll see where everything is really fallling out. Maybe Nintendo will be on top again, maybe not. We'll see.

A used Wii huh? That is odd though. 2008 will be showing who is on top and in my opinion the Wii will have plenty of party games by then. PS3 will have different kind of genres but no 2d games knowing sony. And Xbox360 will have it's Halo 3 and plenty of other shooters.

I picked one up yesterday. Hadn't planned on it, but heard that local Target was getting 70+ and figured what the hay. First impressions are definitely good though I'm not sure how much it will pull me away from the 360 right now.
On a related note VC should have some pretty killer content, but right away one thing that bugged me about it was that you're not provided with a setting to play VC games in different aspect ratios (that I'm aware of anyway). I set the Wii to 16:9 to match the TV, but I don't like playing Super Mario Bros. in stretch or panoramic. It'd be nice to not have to change the aspect on the TV when playing those games, or if they would lock the ratio and surround the game screen with graphical boarders (like Contra on XBLA).
Also, you guys are right about the remotes. This same target got 4 of those with the Wiis and nobody in my part of the norhwestern chicago suburban area had any. The best buy guys are convinced it's all to sell more copies of Wiiiplay.
