I agree with Alienblues' original point, but than I am part of the Wii crowd and may have my head up my butt!
But consisder these :
Nintendo breaks the mold with Nintendogs, there are half a dozen or better knock-off pet sims sitting on shelfs now.
Nintendo breaks the mold with Brainage, there are a half a dozen or better brain training games out right now.
The point is, this industry plays follow the leader on game hits, and the success of Grand Theft Auto led to a TON of GTA clones, and we all know how many first person shooters, war sims, etc. that are out there. I for one am sick of gritty realism and am tired of the graphic's hype. Yes, there is a big difference between Wii vs. 360 and PS3, but the latter 2 system graphics still look like videogame graphics to me, so, so what? And don't tell me that the last two will have better AI and physics with their power, no doubt true in principal, but in practice most devs will spend all their time on beautiful CG graphics on a story a Saturday morning cartoon brain trust would be embarassed of. This is my cynical and biassed view. I hope Nintendo delivers on their promise of "soup" games instead of a diet of so called "filet-minot" games. The Wii can push out nice clear graphics, so let's have some different game concepts that focus on FUN!
