Favorite Star Wars Game??

I vaguely recall playing Tie Fighter over my friend Steve's house in the 1990s. I thought it looked good but didn't realize I was playing a classic.

Was this ever released for a console??

TIE Fighter

Oh Hell ya! I played Tie Fighter for hours on my IBM 486 PC back in the mid 90's. Loved that game. I liked X-Wing too but they did a much better job with the mission structure with Tie Fighter.

A few others I liked:

Xbox Republic Commando
Xbox: Star Wars The Force Unleashed

Same here! I liked X-Wing but loved TIE Fighter. Such a great game. For me getting the guide for the game was like getting a whole other companion book that really told the story. Awesome sauce.

Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube is another very solid entry. Same goes for Knights of the Old Republic. Both were epic games.

There's so many great Star Wars games that haven't even been mentioned yet.

Episode 1 Racer.

Jedi Academy.

Lego Star Wars.

Battle Pod.

And even this doesn't come anywhere near a complete list.

Even the many Star Wars pinball games are far better than they have any right to be.

**disclaimer** I am not a huge Star Wars fan. Don't @ me (or whatever that saying is) but take my opinions with a giant grain of salt.

I'd have to go with either Rebel Assualt for the Sega CD (yes seriously) or Star Wars Arcade on the 32X. On the PC side, I'd probably go with the original Dark Forces (FPS) which I really played a lot of back in the day.

Good question...I'm really enjoying reading all of the responses. There are a lot of "pretty good" Star Wars games across a really wide range of platforms (and I've not played them all)... but three of my favorites include...
1. "The Empire Strikes Back" for the Atari 2600
2. "Episode I Racer" for the N64
3. "Bounty Hunter" for the Gamecube

The 1980s vector-graphics arcade game, for sure. I also have a weakness for Jedi Arena on the 2600.
