You need to go back and play Mario Kart 64, you do exactly that in Mario Kart 64.
Maybe you're the one that didn't play Mario Kart 64 enough, instead of everyone else not playing Double Dash enough?

"The boost in 64 is very crude."
How so? The only difference I can think of is you have to hold the powerslide button in Double Dash. Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart DS, and Mario Kart Double Dash basically have identical mini boost techniques.
I didn't like the original Jet Set Radio that much either. I wouldn't say it's horrible, but I would play JSRF over JSR any day.
I can't even begin to tell you how wrong you are, so I won't.
Anyway, back to Mario Kart. I guess I'll have to go back and play Mario Kart 64 again, since I never tried the powerslide boosts as a kid. Notice that I never said in any of my posts that Mario Kart 64 is a bad game. I loved it when I played it, and I'd probably still love it now. Nonetheless, I still think powerslide boosts or not Double Dash is a better game; if simply because of the upgraded graphics and extra speed. I'll give Mario Kart 64 the notch for better battle mode, though.

Actually he is dead right. JSRF future is a triumph way beyond the cell shaded Tomb Raider game that the first was.
