So have there been (or ARE there) games that are really popular and beloved by most ALL, except you? I thought it would be interesting to hear of that...

Personally, I always hated Junior Pac Man...it was WAYYYY too difficult; Ms. Pac gave us different mazes, random patterns and moving prizes and that was fine but Junior was ridiculous. NO tunnels?! Scrolling mazes-argh! How do you know where the monsters are?! Plus the energizers last WAY too short a time to give you a fair chance.

Also, Maortal Kombat. I loved Street Fighter but MK was , to me, purely based on gore. I thought the actual play was dull.

others?.....

I've always the reptitious (in my opinion gameplay of Paperboy... also I can't stand Tomb Raider. If I play it for longer than 5 minutes I'm getting sick. (Yes, really)

Yeah, Mortal Kombat, Paper Boy, Hard Driven' all blew chunks.  Um, yeah, never been a fan of Madden either and that goes with any baseball game.  I don't mind catching a game live but forget about watching it on tv much less play it on the couch.

Paperboy is a classic!

Personally I don't like MK it lacked all the strat of SF.

I hate Halo 2, I really didn't like the original Unreal Tournament and I hate Soul Caliber 2.

Oh and I also don't like the 2D Mario games.

all of them?

I have a general disdain for most RPGs. I would say the one that I never really liked untill it's Wii version was Zelda.

I also think Mortal Kombat is awful, and I'm not a big fan of Tomb Raider either. Other than that I'm drawing a blank; I could probably think of more games I think are underrated.

Let's not start another argument over this, but I find Halo to be extremely dull and uninspired. I realize that it is a great game and that it has (understandably) a huge fanbase, but personally I just found it rather overrated.

Any Madden between 2006-2010 I am against and will be against, simply because EA doesn't have to try to make a good game for it to sell; the fact that Madden will be the only NFL-licensed game available is incentive for people to purchase it, regardless of its quality. No other options.

Wow, this is amazing, we are all in agreement on most of this so far:

Mortal Kombat, Halo, 2D Super Mario Brothers, Soul Caliber 2, Hard Drivin'

I would add these games:

Metroid: Boring!
Wario Ware: Stupid!

GTA III: Ugly and terrible gameplay!

Don't kill me but I have never liked Metal Gear Solid games. That style of game just does not appeal to me.

Star Fox is definetly overated, at least nowadays.

Sonic Adventure on DC was heralded as a killer app, I think it is a 5.0 game at best.

ChibiRobo was about half the game it should have been.

Eternal Darkness was supposed to be so good, because it was a mature game on the cube, I was not that impressed.

Thats probably enough for now....

Sonic Adventure's main fault was that it threw in way too many horrible play styles instead of focusing on those that worked. They learned their lesson with the sequel, and produced a most excellent game.

Yeah, I agree about Eternal Darkness. It was touted as the next Resident Evil or whatever, giving us a more intesne type of fear instead of simply shocking us with cheap horror effects, but all we got was a dull hack'n slash with a completely broken magic system and some annoying "sanity" effects that just got in the way and never fealt creepy or scary at all. Okay, the dead body in the bathtub was good, as were some of the footsteps and knocking you'd hear once in a while, but the majority were just lame (oh my god, you're walking around in the ceiling. Scary. Let me continue with the game already). I got bored halfway through, and never played it again. Blah.
