PS3 Help!

Postby Jascott72 » July 2nd, 2021, 1:40 pm

I am trying to transfer my 250GB PS3 downloads to my 60GB backward compatible PS3. I was told to do this through the use of an ethernet cable. Unfortunately one of the ethernet ports on one of my PS3's isn't working, likely burned out or something. (I keep getting a message that says to be sure both PS3's are turned on and that the ethernet cable is connected.) Is there any other way to transfer downloads from one PS3 to the other?

Thanks in advance.

I may be sending you on a wild goose chase. But didn't the ethernet cable need to be a crossover or cross connect cable? I can't remember the term, but to link Xboxes directly to one another you couldn't use a normal ethernet cable. It had to be switched up somehow. If you ran them to a hub you could use the normal cables. I'm on my phone else I'd give you more details. Try googling direct connections for lan gaming for halo. I'm pretty sure you'll find the answer pretty quickly.

Could you copy the data to an SD card or something like that?

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I am going to look into those options and see if they work after the holiday weekend.

Actriser is correct, when going directly from one device to another you need a 'Crossover' ethernet cable, not a standard ethernet cable.
