Will they make more games for the PS3?

I'm not going to make any statement on who should be banned or if anyone should be banned. Personally, that sort of thing probably should have been privately emailed to the moderators and Dave, but whatever, the person he brings up has been pretty public with his dissatisfaction with Dave and the site itself.

 

However, I will say that there is a huge difference between disagreements and debates and uncivil behavior. What the poster mentioned in terms of behavior is, in my opinion, uncivil and rude and not just a simple disagreement. It is up to the moderators and Dave, however, when it comes to actual punitive action.

Okay, folks.  Here's a thought, there's more than one person posting under the name Shawn.

 

Shawn (real one and not the idiot) sent me this.

 

"I see on the VGC's site that somebody is still posting under my name. I don't really care either way but I think it's funny. I'm a legend! I plan on picking up a Wii one of these days but I am going to wait till some better games come out for it. I really want to see how the Metroid game turns out. If that's cool then I am going to pick one up. As far as a PS3 goes I am waiting till the end of the year which I think a lot of people are doing...waiting."

 

So, before anyone bans anyone check the IP addresses as you'll see multiple posts from multiple IP addresses.  I suggested Shawn send the critic an email but wanted the rest of you to know as well.

 

Just a hunch but it's Koopa or someone similar.

Good point ActRaiser, which is why I try not to get carried away on things like this.

 

It might even be someone's parody, which, if it is, is pretty funny.

The majority of broadband services use DHCP so you will see multiple IP addresses for practically all the usernames on here, not just Shawn's.

crap, bluemonkey, you're right.  in that case, I've no idea how to police it other than we get logins which then would decrease the ease of use of new blood posting.

 

Maybe, from now on we just assume it's a parody for Wii bashing whenever "Shawn" posts.  And leave it at that.  Anyone else got any ideas?

That is VERY interesting information.  I didn't want to delete any of Shawns post out of a concern that he would use it to his benefit, saying I was trying to win arguments by muting his opinion.  Now that I know that it may not even be him, I will be a little less concerned and start throwing out the trash.

I have found two different addresses for Shawns posts, but who knows if he was posting from a friends house.  One beginning with 71 and the other with 24.  I think I'll just assume it's not him unless he posts from the old one, which was the 24.

Or he could have just pulled the cable out the wall which would get him a new IP, unless he is on an institution's network with static ips.

I was thinking the same thing. I wish when who ever was rude enough to do that would at least give us some explaination why he did it? I have my suspicion that Paul Cambell deleted all of my posts because I was making fun of the fact he was triple posting.

I want to apologize to everybody for posting my grievences publicly, rather than privately. I do wish to clarify, though, that it wasn't because of somebody disagreeing at all....it was how they were doing it, openly insulting people and such. Friendly debate is one thing, but ridiculing somebody's tastes is another. Once again, though, I apologize if I offended anybody with what I did.
