Is Killer7 actually worth the effort?
Does this get more entertaining after a few hours? I sunk two hours into it and found the action to be bland and the exploration to be unnecessarily awkward. (They made it that way to be avante-garde...)
Killer 7 is definitely more about the things it inspires you to contemplate in the storyline than it is about the gameplay itself. It is a very multi-layered storyline with a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle implications.

Thats really strange...I swear I was gonna start a thread like this four or five days ago. I didn't know if Killer7 was worth investing in, but for $10 I figured I would take a shot.
The game hasn't come in, and I'm not really expecting too much. I will post my thoughts when I finally sit down with it.
I hope No More Heroes shapes up to have better gameplay to go along with the crazy story. Suda 51 promises that the game will be more violent than Manhunt 2 and its one of the most promising looking Wii titles.

At least for me. You suddenly realise how to gather and collect clues, what the shells are for, when to use characters and different weapons shots. It is absolutely brilliant. The graphics too are wonderful, especially the Ryokan level. And the shootout with the Handsome Men!
For the first 3-4 hours this is a D+/C- game. Once you suss it, A.

That sounds just like Contact for the DS, another game made by the same people. Ho-hum gameplay that gets way better after a bit.

Is Killer7 actually worth the effort?
Well Killer7 just came in the mail yesterday and I haven't played it because Sonic is taking up my time with the Wii. This weekend should be a good time to sink a few hours into it though. I hope I can stomach the bad stuff to get to the good stuff.
On a similar note, Sonic for the Wii is shaping up to be a game that gets better over time. If any of you read my impressions you will notice how I commented on how loose / slippery the controls felt. Well as continue to play you gain more and abilities that you can assign to your pimp ring. These abilities make controlling Sonic much more enjoyable and much more precise. After you gain enough abilities going back to earlier missions to get gold ratings is much easier. Perhaps this hedgehog has a few tricks up his sleeve yet.

For me this game was worth the effort. The game does a really good job of keeping you off balance. There are lots of surprises. It's not just the first level over and over again. It might be too much to ask, but to give this game a fair shake I think you have to at least play through "Target 02: Cloudman" (the third level). If you aren't enjoying the game by then you should bag it.

I have never seen a game with such stupid, broken-translation dialouge. All the action is on rails, and this is a shooting game. I've liked style over substance games in the past, but this game's style is way too cheesy because it's trying so hard to be cool.
It's unapproachable and not fun. That's just my take.
