Sonic and the Secret Ring Impressions

Postby bluemonkey1 » February 25th, 2007, 7:56 am

Chrisbid that is not the case.  Games with a challenge can be fun but challenge is not the point of the game.  The point is to have an awesome experience.  Take Tomb Raider Legend for example - that game is dead easy even on hard but it is fun because of the experience.  Same with games like Shenmue, Torico, Heroes of Might and Magic, etc.  All these games were fun because playing them was fun, not because of accomplishing something difficult.

Sonic and the Secret Ring Impressions

I'm getting in late on this thread, but I think Sonic and the Secret Rings is the best Sonic since the Dreamcast was on the shelves.  The graphics are fantastic, and I think the controls are quite natural.  I especially like smashing into enemies by pushing the controller forward.  It's also probably the toughest Sonic game I've ever played.  A lot of replay value too.

Ya know Critic, I will tell you, that I have reviewed lots of games and I have never played such a good game that is totally RUINED by the lamea$$ voice acting.

There is a part where you are flat RACING around a dinosaur and it is quite intense. Then all of a sudden, Sonic and the uber-nagging fairy thing starts quipping about how the dinosaur looks hungry and blah blah blah. This totally broke the tension and I returned the game to the video store and don't plan to buy it until it drops to like $14-19 bucks.

It should have taken a page from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Just shut up and get to it already.

Only NintendoSonySoft fanboys who've never played a Sega console in their lives will.  Sadly, that makes up most of the gaming population *runs*.
