"If you have a DS lite blowing into the MIC...is not a problem"

uh...what are you smoking dude? Spare some?

My main complaint with the otherwise great DSlite (besides no great new DS games are out) is the awful location of the microphone. You CANNOT, in the heat of play, blow in that center mounted thing without spraying the screen with spit! WHAT was Nintendo ....smoking!?

Even on the DS one, I always thought of the Mic-unlike the touch screen-as a gimmick. Using it for quick blows, like blowing the candle out in Feel The Magic, is OK, but having to blow PROLONGIDLY (like in Warioware:Touched!) tends to make your face turn blue and you pass out. FUN!

If I ever come to a birthday party of yours, I don't think I'll be having any cake.

"If I ever come to a Birthday of yours I don't think I'll be having any cake."

No-No you won't, I have only had ONE birthday cake in my 24 years of Adult life (I'll be 41 on March 19th by the way). I live alone and except for one surprise party in college when I turned 26, no one has given me a cake, card or presents for my birthday. (insert violin music here).

But to respond seriously, I am not wet-I don't NORMALLY spray spit when I blow on something lightly. But when trying like HELL to blow HARD enough to get the DS microphone to register in the heat of a game, I doubt many here have not "sprayed" the unit at least sometimes. PHBBBBBBBBBBT! (towel for the gentleman please....)

I just think it is easier to blow into the middle of the screens rather than at the bottom. At least you can still look at what's going on in the game if you're blowing into the mic on a DS Lite.

Also, Paul, what I got from your post was that you never even purchased Mario Kart DS. You should go a page back and look at it to see if something came out wrong.

Yeah, I have asthma and this was always an issue for me.

Its easier just to press select to inflate your balloons anyways. You don't need to use the stupid mic.

The mic's faster. Once you figure out how to purse your lips to get the air in every time it is really fast. And it's easier on the DS Lite because you can actually watch the game while you blow into the mic.

Now, that's a Napoleon Dynamite (2004) comment.  Hilarious.

I tend to think that blowing into the mic is indeed gimmicky.  I don't think the mic itself is gimmicky though.  I think the voice recognition stuff on the few games that have it is great.

I disagree. So far voice recognition in DS games have been really spotty. There is room for improvement, however.
