Call of Duty 3 help (wii)

Not "agile" enough? Did you ever stop to think that the controls suck? I have played plenty of Wii games and let me tell you...they are far from "casual gamer friendly" for the most part. I mean, every FPS on the system is better suited for analog controls (not to mention the fact that the games are better on the other systems). I think the system is obviously still in its infancy so maybe they'll work out the bugs but it is hardly the "revolutionary" transformation that people were fortelling....at least when it comes to FPS. I mean, the controls work just fine for party games and Zelda but they are a long way away from making an enjoyable FPS. I am still wondering how they are going to do a Basketball or Hockey game on the Wii......

I would say precise, dexturous movements require more skill than the physical actions you described JLH.  As a modelmaker I can tell you small movements such as with a traditional joypad are more skillful.

I wouldn't write it a negative review for this.  It was kind of my problem, but I can't believe how long it took me to figure it out.   But one thing I will say about this,  This game seems to be seriously lacking.   I remember Call of Duty 2 for Xbox 360.   It had some serious intence scripted combat events that were larger than life, and great graphics to go with it.

In this game, it doesn't seem that way.   The levels seem much narrower and the combat never gets as intence.  I assume they did this because of the limitations of the wii. I assume the Xbox 360 version must have better level design cosidering it has a much higher score at gamerankings.

And about the controls, they actually work pretty well.   I actually think I might like this better than dual analog.  It feels more like your holding a gun.  The only problem is when you turn around, you can sometimes lose your orientation.   I seriously hope this game isn't a sign of things to come.  I hope I don't have to choose between motion sensing controls (Wii)  or the game with more content and better graphics (X360), because with this game, it appears Nintendo got the short end of the stick.

I forgot one more thing.   The unskipable cutscenes.   Not only are the boring cutscenes unskippable, everytime you load up a save file, you have to see the beginning cutscene from the beginning of that campaign.   So unless you are the kinda guy who likes to play games for 5 -10 hours at a time, your gonna see the same boring cutscenes 3-4 times. Yes, I know France surrendered to Hitler until the Allies liberated them.  I don't need to see the cutscene five times, I KNOW!   This was a ridiculous design choice.   Cutscenes should always be skippable, and under no circumstance should I be forced to watch them twice.   This would be enough to be the game down a whole letter grade in my eyes.

They probably do suck...from the sounds of it FPS suck hard on the Wii.  I'll be damned if I'm gonna waste my money to find out too.

All I'm saying is that when a spefic motion is required for a game that isn't "shake the Wiimote", some people aren't going to get it.  It's as simple as that.

Actually, aside from the small issue that Edward M had the control in Call of Duty 3 was pretty good. Any part that was actually FPS controlled just as well as another consoles FPS. On another note, Shawn, whenever I read your posts I feel like you're yelling. Are you yelling in your head when you post them?

I wouldn't go that far.   After playing this, I would definately say FPSs on the wii have potential.  The controls work really well despite the lame scripted events where you gotta do a motion and it doesn't recognize your hand motion most of the time.   And I know I said some negative things about COD3 in previous posts, but now that Im making it farther in the game, it is getting better levels.    Neither COD3 for wii or Red Steel got great reviews on the Wii.  I'd wait for Metroid to come out before I call the wii useless for FPSs
