New topic with a low flame quotient...

What is the rarest (most rare?) game you own or have ever owned?

For me (and I'm guessing this thing is rare because I can't find out a whole heck of a lot about it) it would be Tetris for the Genesis (Megadrive).  I got the game cheap on eBay a few years ago, it came in a normal black clamshell-type plastic case with a weird cover - Chinese or Korean writing, no instruction sheet, and looks like a total blackmarket POS.  The cartridge has rounded edges, very different than U.S. carts, but it fits in my Genesis Model 3 with no problem.  Plays fine, but pretty low production values (if you can say that about freakin' Tetris.)  The person I bought it from said they thought there were only a few thousand made and sold in Asia.  I know Nintendo kept Sega from selling Tetris, so I guess these carts just sort of...slipped out.

BTW: If you know anything else this little piece of weirdness, or want to see a picture, let me know.

Mark

Probably a toss-up between a japanese version of Mariokart 64, and Warsong (for Genesis) with instructions and case. I'm sure my near-mint copy of Phantasy Star for Master System isn't in everybody's collection either. And the battery still works, to boot!

The rarest game I ever owned was the first Dragon Warrior for the NES.  I don't know anyone else who's ever even seen one.

I owned Waterworld for the Virtual Boy, and Mario's Missing, Mega Man 5 & 6, and Contra Force for the NES.

"Duck Hunt for the NES". Wow! I bet NOBODY hear has even
HEARD of that baby!

I have over 90% of all Colecovision / Adam games, but my rarest games are for the 2600. I guess the rarest would be Up n' Down.
Next up would be Konami Pooyan and Marine wars (which don't work on the 7800 by the way!). As a collector I save most of my boxes and instructions. I have All 9 of the original label 2600 carts released with the system too.

I recall selling my HUGE 2600 collection to my sister when I was like 21 to buy NES games. I lost some really rare ones then, like Mr. Do! and others...she passed away and some thrift store got 'em. Wish I knew which!

Tombi! (a.k.a. Tomba! in the US) for the PS1. I played a demo of it years ago and loved it, but don't ever recall seeing it in the shops. I ended up buying it on eBay last year for about AUD$50. Unfortunately, I've gotten stuck in the game, as has happened with far too many other games I own (Lifeforce Tenka, God of War, Kya: Dark Lineage, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and probably some others I can't recall at the moment).

I don't know how rare some games are, but I can tell which games I own that are probably worth the most money.

I have an orginal black label version of Final Fantasy VII in mint condition.  I also have the rare Final Fantasy Strat Guide made by Versus (it sells for over $100).

Next up we have a complete copy of Star Control II for the 3D0...map included.

Albert Odyssey on the Saturn

Castlevania Chronicles (PS1)

Digital Devil Saga (PS2)

Return Fire (PS1)

For the Genesis I have two games still in their orginal packages...Mutant League Football and Wings of Wor.  I'm sure both of them are common games, but in brand new condition they are probably worth a pretty penny.  I also have all of the Phantasy Star games on the Genesis.  Plus the second one still has the hintbook.

The most expensive game that I own, to my knowledge anyway, is The Leisure Suit Larry Collection (PC).

Rarest/hardest to find:

Baby Universe - PS1 - An incredibly cool music visualiser/game.

Panzer Dragoon Saga - Saturn $200 it cost me.

iS: Internal Section - PS1 - No one seems to know about it and there is very little on the web beyond a handful of screens on one small time site.

Special Forces - PS1 - Metal Slug type affair.
