Video games--indestructible

About three months ago, I was a victim of flood damage. My PS1 and N64 collection was totally soaked.

Anyway, I plugged Ocarina of Time in my n64 yesterday--played like a dream. the save feature could even apparantly work. My Chrono Cross saves are still intact on my PS1 mem cards, as well. Not to mention the PS1 games--after washing off the CD's, they worked perfectly.

CD's shouldn't ever have any problem with water. I would imagine that if the water is completely gone from the cartridge when you use it then there is no chance of a short, which is probably about the only thing that water could really do to a cartridge, besides cause rust.

Cartridges are notoriously hard to destroy....right now I have a 2600 Ms. Pac-Man loose PC board in my 7800, it works fine! (I have about 8 games that are PC board only, no casing!)

Long ago in The 2600 Connection, someone tried to destroy a Combat cart. The person busted the casing, the chip, baked it, drowned it in various chemicals, ran over it with his car-It STILL worked!

Of course, the one time a cart WILL NOT work....when you find a rare old valuable cart at Goodwill for 99 cents and gleefully run home with it-THEN it won't work (thats happened to me TWICE. 2600 Tank Attack was just an empty case; Planet Patrol was busted!)
