ExciteTruck vs. Sonic And The Secret Rings
I'm torn between these two, they seem similar in that they are racing/speed themed.
I know some of you own both Excite Truck and Sonic, so honestly, which game is more enjoyable?
Independent reviews since 1999.

I can only comment on Sonic, since I haven't played Exite Truck.
Sonic is pretty average in my book. If I was reviewing the game it would probably be a solid C. If you're a diehard Sonic fan bump that grade up to a C+ / B- (I'm not that big on the blue blur). Thats not to say its bad, its just held back by too many bad design choices. The future looks bright for the franchise, but thats not an answer to your question.
Honestly I would pass on both until they drop down in price. Alot of people say ExciteTruck is low on replay value and if you don't have an SD card full of music it will cause your skeleton to leap out of your skin. To me it sounds like its worth $20 and I am going to wait until it drops before I get it.
So is a game that is probably a C grade worth $50 to you? I say wait for the drop or rent one of them first.
I own Excite Truck, and for me, it was definitely worth full price. If you are the type of gamer who likes games where you try to beat a high score, it has a lot of replay value. It has 19 tracks and 2 difficulty levels, and to unlock the harder difficulty level, you need to score an "S" grade on every track. So far, I've only gotten "S" grades on about two-thirds of the tracks and haven't even unlocked the harder difficulty level yet. I've had the game for about 3 weeks, and I still have plenty to do.
I have 5 Wii games, and Excite Truck is my favorite. Like I said, if you're the type of gamer who likes to shoot for high score, I definitely recommend you pick it up.
(Also, by the way, as the previous poster mentioned, the music does suck. Even if you don't have music of your own to substitute for it, you can always turn the music off. That's what I do.)
Some people on this board have gone so far as to say Excite Truck is genius. Give it a look!

Let me sway you the other 10%. It's not even a contest. I played through all of Excite Truck, and I've invested about 5 hours into Sonic now and it is clear which one is the better game. Both of them have awful music, but with Excite Truck you have the option of playing your own with an SD card, which in my mind gives it the best music of any Wii game so far.
In Sonic you start with bad controls, then get upgrades to give you decent controls. In Excite Truck you start with great controls, then get better until you master them completely. Sonic's multiplayer is garbage mini games, while Excite Truck is just a solid racing game (albeit it is slightly slower on multiplayer than on single player).
Excite Truck is even the faster game. Sonic is fun, but it is nowhere near as good a game as Excite Truck. Excite Truck is definitely my second favorite game out on Wii. I'd rent Sonic, and buy Excite Truck.
