Motorstorm is getting good, but not great reviews. Kinda in the range of Excite Truck, the Secret Rings, Trauma Center, Elebits, etc for the Wii. I kinda thought this was going to be a lights out game that was gonna generate some widespread interest for the PS3.

Neither system has the killer app, yet. Zelda TP, and Resistance FOM are both really good games but flawed enough to not make them worth the price of the system alone or to be truly called the killer app. Zelda is truly a Gamecube game and Resistance is not nearly as good as Gears of War.

So...

Lair vs. Super Smash Brothers Brawl? 

Is that gonna be the first heavyweight fight between the new systems? Which one do you think will win (mo money)???

What are you talking about? I have read great reviewson Motorstorm except for Gamespot. This game is going to generate a ton of interest for the PS3, in fact, this is the reason why I am buying one along with Virtual Fighter! If you get a chance, check out the demo, you may like it! Lair vs. Super Smash Brothers? No contest! Lair Wins! I am sure SSB will be very good though but to be fair, those are two games in very different genres.

You can't compare the two. They're in completely different genres, and Smash Bros. is a game you either love or hate. If you loved the other Smash Bros. games I'm sure Brawl will be the best thing ever. It's guaranteed to be packed with tons of characters (some 3rd party) and levels. But if you hated the other Smash Bros. games you'll hate this one no matter how polished it is.

I've heard a lot about "Wii60"... but if the price on the PS3 drops and I get this internship I applied for, I may actually go "WiiS3".  (Of course, this also depends on if Metal Gear Solid 4 is as good as its cracked up to be.  I'm a pretty big Metal Gear Fan)

For some reason I never thought the original Xbox was too compelling, outside of Ninja Gaiden.  It's collected more dust than any system I own.  On the other hand, I've played the hell out of the PS2, PSP and DS, GBA and Gamecube.

I think that, after playing Motorstorm, that it will be successful. It has been highly rated and even advertised as the PS3's first real killer ap. Though I don't think that's necessarily going to happen, it will have some success. It is a very polished game and, though not my cup of tea, very playable. I don't think it's a matter of Smash Bros. Vs Lair. It's a multitude of games, for all three systems!

And the list goes on. Nobody can say that any one of the three platforms does NOT have a single game for it. Even I can say that Sony will have a good amount of exclusive titles to themselves. Final Fantasy will certainly remain a PS exclusive seeing as how 360 is not doing well in Japan and the Wii is not powerful enough, seeing as how Square only uses the latest technology in their FF titles. DMC4 couldn't work on the Wii and, though it would probably be successful for MS in America, it would tank in Japan. Things are interesting, though, that each system has a ton of games coming for different kinds of gamers. For the first time since god knows when, it's not just action/platforming/fps/rpg/strategy/sports....things are starting to diversify a bit. It should be interesting to see where all of this leads.

Anyone else think it odd that the 360 is the platform for nextgen RPGs? 

Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Fable 2, Lost Oddssey vs PS3s FF13...

I'm sure the PS3 has more RPGs in development but I honestly haven't heard of any.  Yes, Oblivion will be coming to the PS3 but it's been out on the 360 for over a year now, ditto for Enchanted Arms.

Not really.  The XBox attracted the biggest names in Western RPGs too.
