New DS games?

Postby Alienblue » March 6th, 2007, 5:35 am

I wanted to buy a new DS games this month, but sadly, there was not one DS or GBA game at the store that interested me. Most of the DS games were movie liscenes; the one exception was "Disney Meteos", and I-don't-like-METEOS!

Can anyone reccomend some good action, puzzle or light adventure titles CURENTLY available (I have to choose whats at the store, I can't get stuff online... ): )

Thanks.

What about that new Wario game? It's getting average to below average reviews but maybe you'll like it more then most considering you are into art and all. Check out the reviews on ign or something like that.

I've seen quite a few new games on the shelf that i know nothing about, like Contact.  I havn't heard good or bad of any of them so they may not be making much of a splash.

This is ceratinly a dry period.  Maybe a good time to catach up on any games you might of missed.  And I don't know how anybody couldn't like Meteos, but I dont know how Disney characters would help.

Mario Kart Ds

Mario Kart 64

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow

Castlevania Cirle of The Moon

Kirby Canvas Curse (Must Have)

PacnRoll (haven't played it but looks amazing, trying to see how cheap I can find it for)

Tetris DS (I hate Tetris, but alotta people seem to like it, and I think this is one of the best versions of it)

Metroid Prime Pinball

Sonic Rush

Lunar Knights (supposed to be a great Zelda style game)

Trauma Center

Phoenix Wright

MegaMan ZX

Final Fantasy III

Certainly there is something there that is interesting.  The DS is insanely great.

1) I cannot get on IGN or MOST other sites with this old computer
2) Pac-N-Roll...don't stock it no more son. I'd get it, but I can only get new games at WAL*MART, I have no credit or way to order online stuff.

How about Yoshis Island DS? Zen spoke quite bad of this game, and I didn't like the FIRST YI anyway, but I'm desperate....anyone buy YIDS and LIKE it..or not, and why? Also, Brainage- they had that on sale-but I hate Sudoku and math. Is BA Sudoku/number heavy or is there a variety of object/word games too?

Sad with warm weather coming soon and no portable games to play. Whats the sense in having free time if you aint got game?!

There's a new Kirby game out Alienblue. I'd say it would be a safer bet than Wario, given that it got better reviews, and Yoshi's Island DS if you didn't like the original Yoshi's Island. It's a standard Kirby game, so while it's not as innovative as Canvas Curse, it's also guaranteed to be a solid platformer.

I don't own a DS yet, but yeah, Yoshi's Island 2 is fantastic.  It's perfectly in keeping with the SNES original and I'd say it's well worth it for DS owners.  I didn't plan Brain Age a whole lot, but in that similar vein is Big Brain Academy, which I did like quite a bit.  I also was initially impressed with Kirby Squeak Squad...

I've said it before, and I'll sya it again- Yoshi's Island DS is a pretty good game that loses many points for being almost exactly like the original, but less memorable. You'd be better off getting the original (which is $20 cheaper anyway)... but since you didn't like the first, you wouldn't like this either.

Anyway, I would suggest Castlevania. They require and even encourage exploration, but there's a handy map on the other screen and the gameplay is great.

If worse comes to worst, you could pick up some GBA games.
