Can Michael Jackson save Sonic?

Postby a1 » March 9th, 2007, 10:00 pm
Hmm, not all lotta people like Sonic 3's music.  I always thought it was the best with the exception of Sonic CD.
I agree with you on that. Or at least that Sonic 3 and Knuckles have the best music of the Sonic games, and agreed, with the exception of Sonic CD. The best thing about the music in Sonic CD is how there were two different tunes for each level; depending on whether you were in the past or future. Sonic 2 had the best boss music, though.

I would also take Michael Jackson's music over anything in Sonic and the Secret Rings. The only song in that game that is anywhere near decent is the one that has no lyrics (really dramatic sounding, in the level with Knuckles). I think a lot of people don't like Michael Jackson's music now because he was accused of an awful crime, but that doesn't make "Billy Jean" a bad song. Also, he was found innocent, people. Remember?

I wouldn't say he was innocent.   Some of the jurors even went on talk shows and said he is probably a molestor, but they did not find enough proof to convict "beyond a reasonable doubt," which is an incredibly high standard when having to deal with Jackson's legal team.  But I chose to seperate the man from his work.   For example, noone is gonna claim that Bobby Ficsher isn't an amazing chess player.   But noone is gonna claim he is sane either.  According to his wikipedia article he denies the holocaust ever happened, yet at the same time wants to restart it.  This guy has written some of the stupidest crap ever.   But none of that takes away from his awesome chess playing abilities, just like Jackson's problem with boys doesn't take away from his talent.  A lot of the most brilliant people are incredibly flawed.

Thank goodness for that "incredibly high standard".  I only wish jurors actually applied that standard more often.  I've served on at least two juries in the past, and I can tell you from experience that they often disregard that standard in place of their own need to feel safe.

In any case, I paid enough attention to the trial details that I am quite sure that I could never find Jackson guilty with the kind of evidence that was brought forward.  I mean -- after all those years of investigation, that's all they could muster up?!?

Having said all of that, I am with Chris Rock -- I wouldn't let Michael Jackson watch my kids on TV, let alone in person.  This isn't just some concern that he might molest them.  It's also my fear that they might get the wrong idea about life -- that it's some kind of playground.

[ . . . ]

It is well known tht Michael Jackson wrote the music for Sonic 3.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_3#Sonic_3_and_Michael_Jackson    They erased his name from the credits because of his molestation charge, but they kept much of the music.   And the music was all awesome.  I think they should have Michael Jackson write the music for the next Sonic game.  Sega is still on good terms with him considering he was a guest star in Space Channel.  Considering how horrible the music in Sonic games is currently, it couldn't hurt anything to bring him back.
That's crazy.  How well known is this?  I was completely ignorant of this until I read your post.  Tommorrow I got pick up a copy of Sonic 3.

I have something in common with Michael Jackson.  Does anyone want to know what it is?

We both have a little known disorder called body dysmorphic disorder.  I don't think he's ever come out and said that he has it.  I don't even know if he's been diagnosed with it, but if you look it up and see what it is, I think it's pretty obvious that he has it.

Yes, but everyone thinks Michael Jackson is probably a molestor. It's more fun to think a celebrity is guilty then to actually look at the facts. Fortunately, these jurors did look at the facts and found him innocent. I'm not saying Michael Jackson is sane in any way, and it's probably best not to leave your kid with him, but our jury system is innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

Anyhow, isn't Sonic 3 great?
