Top 100 Sega Genesis Games

Um... Streets of Rage, 84? No Herzog Zwei or the Immortal? Comic Zone at 50-something...

 

I think this guy's list should be titled 100 Genesis games I can remember and put into a list.

Well, I've never heard of the No. 1 game, and c'mon, the three Sonic games at Nos. 2-4?  Lame.

 

My top list would start something like:

 

1) Toejam and Earl

2) Revenge of Shinobi

3) Castle of Illusion

4) Sonic 2

5) Streets of Rage

6) Batman

7) Strider

8) Earthworm Jim

9) MK2

10) Thunderforce 3

i dont see how a single person can rank that many games without pulling the order out of your butt.

you can have a list of 100 games, but to have an accurate order... total BS

Everybody has different tastes, but when I think top 20 genesis games my list is much different.  I'll toss out 20 games in no particular order that I think rock the Genesis's "blast processor" harder than most.

2.  Sonic 2
3.  Castlevania Bloodlines
4.  Contra Hardcorps
5.  Golden Axe
6.  Ghouls N Ghosts
7.  Gunstar Heroes
8.  Shinobi 3
9.  Comix Zone
10.  Phantasy Star II
11.  Thunder Force III
12.  Toe Jam and Earl
13.  Zombies Ate My Neighbors
14.  Super Street Fighter 2
15.  Adventures of Batman and Robin
16.  Kid Chameleon
17.  MUSHA
18.  Castle of Illusion
19.  Vectorman
20.  Ristar

I tried not to include more than one game from any franchise.  Plus I left out sports games, because there are better ways to use your Genesis.  If someone was asking me what games to get for their brand new Genesis it would like something like that list.

Rocket Knight Adventures is a fun game, but there's no way it's better than any Genesis Sonic. I wouldn't even put it in the top 20.

Since I love the Genesis so, I guess I must respond , which is easy- my top twenty; just take Justlikeheavens top 20, ony remove Zombies ate my neighbors and Kid chameleon (too slow for my tastes) and insert Trampoline Terror and Bio Hazzard Battle instead. It is very hard to come up with just 20 faves on a system with so many great games!

...I don't have the patience to list a HUNDRED games in any particular order though, or even to READ such a list. The only time such long lists make since is with the 100-200 best GAMES of all time or 100 best Nintendo or Atari or Sega (incl/SMS and game gear) games...

My problem with this guy's list isn't that I disagree with it, but he doesn't seem to agree with own choices. He lists Sonic 3 at #3 and says "My personal favorite Sonic." Yet, he listed Sonic 2 right above it at #2!  He lists Streets of Rage 2 at #8, yet writes "The BEST Genesis game ever!"  Huh?  About his #17 game he says "I see no reason to play this s#@*...but I can't let down the fans here." This list makes no sense at all.
