Motor Storm is no joke

This early in the life of each system, I think that's a little premature. We didn't see some of the stuff the Dreamcast could do until last year, so I doubt very much if there is any game out this early on the PS3 that the 360 won't match someday. I'm not saying the PS3 won't pull ahead, but I don't think we've even seen close to the graphics we'll see by the end of the life cycle of each system.

I think the Critic will end up giving the game a B. He will enjoy the game, but I'm pretty sure online is the only multiplayer option and it will lose some points for that.

[QUOTE=The Video Game Critic]I know we've all been pretty hard on the PS3 since it came out, but we might all be singing a different tune had Motor Storm been a launch title. This game is AMAZING. Beginning with its intro, I could have sworn I was watching live video footage, and that's how it looks when you're playing the game too. Set in the desert, Motor Storm puts you in control of motorcycles and Mad-Max style vehicles in a series of wild off-road races. This is probably the best looking game I've ever seen (granted I say that a lot) with visuals that I doubt the 360 could match. It's a little early to determine the all-important "fun factor", but so far it looks promising. Stay tuned for a full review in the upcoming weeks.

Personally I think this game is an easy A but who knows. It isn't deep but it is fun as hell. The graphics are unbelievable. Maybe it has been done before but I love how the track conditions change as the race evolves. If you want another great game for the PS3 try VF5. You might be burned out on the genre but it's new to me so I was impressed like heck with it.

The games that will really push me into the other two systems are probably Bioshock for the 360 and Heavenly Sword for the ps3. I played a demo of Motorstorm and thought it was impressive but it's not the kind of game I'd buy a system for.

This is exactly what I've been saying since launch. I loved the demo I played on launch day and it really showed off the true potential of the PS3. Now that's it's finally out, PS3 owners can finally have a title that really flaunts its power, plus the extra development time will probably be more noticable with the final product.

I definitely agree with the critic here. I haven't played Motorstorm, but I've watched it being played for long periods at Best Buy by other patrons. I can honestly say that it really expresses the PS3's strengths, and I was thoroughly impressed by the sandy desert and canyon visuals.

Anyways, I thinks it funny because I never saw any of the CGI Motorstorm stuff, so there was zero expectation from me...I think its a beautiful looking game. Others that were expecting more feel let down. The game industry is funny that way.

I agree I think it is to premature to say what the 360 can and can't do at this point in time.
