He has trouble doing games like Super Mario World and Super Princess Peach, I think Ninja Gaiden is going to just be a exercise in frusturation for him. I wouldn't recommend it unless he likes really hard games.

I GOT AN XBOX!!!!
I tink youse guys is bein' a bit harsh on OLD AB; remember I BEAT Super Mario World on SNES years ago-just forgot some stuff-AND I beat that squid, got near the end Of Super Princess Peach and went back and have found all but TWO of the Toad guys. I just get impatient/frustrated sometimes. I DO remember playing Ninja Gaiden though and THAT WAS HARD! But hell I still beat it blindfolded, one arm and foot tied behind my back while reciting Hamlet. Or not...(:
The two games I got with The Xbox I don't care much for. MEDAL OF HONOR and DESERT STORM. Graphics/sound are crazy spectacular, but they are just DOOM JOINS THE ARMY! I just can't get into games like these. Anyone here LIKE these?
Anyway, Thank you SO much Mozart, you are very kind. I emailed you my snailmail, hope you got both Emails by now. I REALLY want Namco museum, but the stores here dont have it for anything but Gamecube! I can't wait! That'll be a good Birthday for me!
I noticed the Xbox controller loks different from the early models. Did they change it, and if so why? Is SPYRO a good 3-D platformer? Someone mentioned Sonic Mega collection plus- I HAVE that for PS2 but it is buggy. I know Gamecube one is better, how 'bout xbox? Is Shadow of the Collosus a greatest hits yet? Is
Metal slug available on Xbox?
Last Q: Anyone else own both PS2/Xbox? Which is your favorite?

I own both, but I prefer the Xbox.
Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the Xbox suffers from the same issues the PS2 version has.
"Anyone here LIKE these?"
I don't like the Medal of Honor series and never played the other, but if you mean first person shooters, yeah I do like some of them. The Brothers in Arms series and Half Life 1 (And 2, episode 1, Blue Shift, and Opposing Forces) are some of my favorite games.
Make sure you get Namco Museum 50th Anniversary, not Namco Museum. More games, and they're all emulated, not the shoddy ports that the first Namco Museum for the PS2/Xbox/GC got.
"I noticed the Xbox controller loks different from the early models. Did they change it, and if so why?"
Yes, the first one recieved mostly negative reactions, so they switched to the controller designed for the Japanese market.
" Is Shadow of the Collosus a greatest hits yet?"
Yes, its a greatest hits now, and you know its a PS2 game, right?
"Is Metal slug available on Xbox?"
A few of them are, but just get the PS2 collection of all of them due here in a week or so.

Alien Blue the way they describe you they make you sound like a monkey with a slight case of down syndrome. Tell your friends you don't hide under the covers unless the game you play has God mode on or something.

In all honesty Superjay I have never played Ninja Gaiden Black. I just heard it is one of the hardest games around, so I figured I'd give him a warning. And Alienblue, if you beat the original Ninja Gaiden then you are a better gamer than I'll ever be.

Hey, is what Superjay sez right? Y'all think I'm a Monkey wid down syndrome? Well, I'se here to tells you, I NEVER HAD NO DOWN SYNDROME, EVER! ... monkey fleas and Bananna addiction, mmmaybe..
I was not being serios about beating Ninja gaiden. Seriously (:
However, back in the late 80's early 90's, some games I did beat -ALL of the 2-D marios (except Yoshis Island, never liked that); Mega man 1-4, Zelda, Kid Icarus (that so many say is "hard"!), Metroid, ...Darius, Gradius 3, Most early Genesis games like Golden axe, Streets of rage, many handheld games like links awakening...really, MOST 2-D shooters (my main genre) -let's just say I beat a LOT. You do have to realize I have less time for games now AND I AM sick, I am on medication therapy that makes my @#$! nerves act up...so I do pretty good considering.
Ok, One more Q: not that I need one, but I'm curious: with the expansion kit, is the Xbox a better DVD player than PS2?

If you beat this then wow! I never could back in the day. Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox is a fantastic game but be prepared to die, die, die, die, wow, i got lucky, die, die, die, eh, what's on TV?

I kind of got burnt out on FPSes, well, except for Halo multiplayer. I am loving the Rainbox 6 style games though as it's more of a deliberate thinking man's shooter.
I noticed the Xbox controller loks different from the early models. Did they change it, and if so why?
The original controller plays much better for FPSes but if you're hands are small such as those mostly in Japan they needed a new controller. Eventually, MS phased out the big bulky one replacing it with the Controller-S (small?). For fighters and games that use the white and black buttons the controller-s works better along with a better directional pad.
Last Q: Anyone else own both PS2/Xbox? Which is your favorite?
Yes, to both, I've had the Xbox for years before finally picking up the PS2. So, in the long run I've had way more fun with my Xbox but the PS2 has several quarky and fun games to boot as well.
The only game that I'd recommend that I haven't seen posted yet is Crimson Skies. It can be had for really cheap and is just an all around awesome experience. It's essentially GTA in the air with a terrific story, fun dog fights, and loads of detail. Have fun!

Just to agree that those two shooters aren't good. Actually I hate them so try not to judge XBox fps games based on those two.

I GOT AN XBOX!!!!
Bluemonkey: While FPS'es are far from my favorite genre, I DO like a few like the DOOM series, Castle Wofenstein, Duke Nukem 3D... I was ready and willing to buy HALO or HALO 2 for Xbox but they had neither in my area.
My main problem with FPSes is that so many are so similiar- take DESERT STORM and MEDAL OF HONOR. Both start with amazingly animated openings to get your hopes up, but then BOTH dwindle into similiar scenarios: Training mission, a commander is barking orders, run around 360 degrees shooting everything and try to reach a target. In Desert storm you are at base camp in a Desert, MOH is set at D-day but take away the graphic sets, they play almost the same! I'm still looking for Halo though, I'm willing to give it a chance, it looks very "Doom 2006" to me!...
