Are any other Wii owner excited about the next few weeks.  The next 4 weeks look to have some of the most interesting games since the launch.  Here are the games I will consider picking up if the reviews are favorable

Week of March 18th

The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
Cooking Mama

Week of March 25th

Medal of Honor Vangard
Splatterhouse (Virtual Console)

Week of April 1st

Heatseekers

Week of April 8th

Super Paper Mario

I'm sure the only thing that will get 9.0 is Super Paper Mario, but I can see something like Heatseekers or Medal of Honor sneak into the 8.0 - 8.9 range.  The Godfather already got an 8.0 from ign and the review made the game sound really fun.  I'll be sure to pick that one up when it hits stores.  I dunno about the rest of you but the 3rd party games are already filling holes in the early 07 lineup.

Well to be honest Medal of Honor isn't exactly my cup of tea...but at this point every new FPS that comes out is interesting because I want to see how the controls will turn out.

The Godfather is a title that I never played on the PS2 or xbox, and so far all I've read is great things about the motion controls.  In the ign review it states numerous times that the game is simply fun to play.  This is a game I want to play purely for the motion controls...being able to toss around a guy, pump reload shotguns, punch people sounds like a lot of fun to me.  Since I never played the game I see no problem giving it a shot on the Wii...if I already owned the game I would probably pass.

If all I cared about were pretty graphics I would get the PS3 Don's Edition instead, but that actually scored lower on ign.

I actually thought the Godfather was a decent game so I think it is a no brainer on the Wii if you haven't played the other versions. That said, I thought one of the most annoying things about the game was the idiotic AI which hasn't been solved (according to ign) on the Wii version. That being said, ya, it may be cool to use the motion controls so this is one game I'll pick up if I ever get a Wii.

To be honest, all of these games are typical 3rd party support and don't sway me to buy a Wii. However, if I owned one I would check out (buy or rent) one or two of these titles. Sorry, Cooking Mama looks like more attempts by Nintendo to appease its newfound "casual" crowd. I thought the game was stupid on the DS and I can't imagine it will be much better on the Wii. However, I am sure it will sell well.

Can anybody confirm if Metroid has indeed been delayed? That was the one game I was really fired up about.

Well, the Wii version of Cooking Mama promises competitive multiplayer, which I'm sure will be a blast. I found the DS original a fun, silly little game that's great for pick-up-and-play sessions, which is what my gaming mostly consists of these days, swamped in work as I am.

EA describes the game as having "an expansion's worth of upgrades to go along with the new control scheme".  Thus, this could be the "best" version of the game.  Now, I got my plays worth from the Xbox version until I no longer felt the urge to play the game, so I don't think, expansion or not, I'll bother with this one at all.  Still, for people who haven't played it before, this certainly looks like it may be the version to own.  In any case, it doesn't particularly excite me at this point.

I hope so.  I know Nintendo really needs the game out there, but more than that they really need it to be good.  I get a feeling that rushing the game out this year will make the game pretty terrible.  As long as they don't pull a Twilight Princess and delay it until the "Us" comes out.  Then again, I'm hoping this version is good enough to get me into the Prime series, so it better be great.  Thus far I haven't played 2 at all really, gave up on the original at about 20%, and can't bring myself to go back to playing the DS version no matter how much I feel like I should to get my money's worth.  In fact, I kind of wish they'd cancel Prime 3, turn the remote sideways, and program a good ol' 2D Metroid.

Did you like the Godfather for the xbox?  What makes it fun, unique, entertaining?  Is it a good use of the license?  Any info you could give me would help me out greatly.  Thanks.
