The Impossible Has Happened

Postby Chris Marsh » March 15th, 2007, 7:41 pm

I never thought that I could get it, but I did. When my mom went to Best Buy today, I gave her my gift card and on a routine shop for the Casino Royale movie, the person working there said there was one Wii left. I started playing Wii Sports and it is probably the best thing ever right now. It's good for playing with multiple people and good on my own too. Got plenty of exercise out of playing Tennis too. I don't want people, especially VGC to be unhappy, but I just needed to get that feeling off. Note that it is very complicated at first, but once you know what to do with everything, you will be hooked. I am typing this from my computer, but I haven't figured out how to use the net yet.

Anyone else think it funny that everyone on the forums has a Wii that wants one except the critic?

Oh, the irony.  What would be even better is if Shawn/The Suit picked up a Wii before the critic.  Now, that my friends would be a hoot.

What I find is wierd is that he doesn't have the connections to get one. I mean, I have seen a couple of Wii's in the store and several people I do business with have called me several times telling me they are in stock. If I wanted one I would get one but Actraiser, don't hold your breath! You know how I feel about the Wii! Heck! You haven't played yours in months, maybe you should sell it to the critic! hahaha!

I've been trying to get another one for my sister's kids now since December.  I found one in January for my brother's, but it was a fluke -- I was literally in the right place at the right time.  I've been pretty persistent, and I live in a city with hundreds of stores able to meet the need -- still no dice.

The last time I was told that Best Buy was getting a shipment in on the first day of the week.  I got there at a reasonable time shortly after it opened, unfortunately, there was a line already in place.  Each one was taken before I could get there.

I am beginning to get more than a little upset at Nintendo for not making and shipping more of these out.  There is a big demand, and Nintendo could easily meet it.  I think if there had been enough Wiis last month, they could have easily outsold the DS.  I hope they haven't bought into the mistaken idea that creating scarcity below the level of demand will net them something in the long-run.  It usually doesn't work out that way.

They aren't really that expensive at ebay anymore, that's always a possibility. It's where I got mine.

I don't have one yet either. I'm just holding one as collateral. LOL
