I hope it's true. It would be [I]really[/I] cool if it were on the Wii! The flying guy would follow your cursor as he went through the rings. If it were on any other system, it wouldn't have the same amount of innovation as it did when the original came out. That's my opinion, at least!

This doesn't surprise me at all. Apparently when Yuki Naka was working on a sequel to NiGhTs for the Dreamcast, new controllers were being developed to provide a motion-sensitive control scheme to the game. When the sequel was scrapped, so the story goes, those controllers were adapted to Samba de Amigo instead. That and the fact that Yuki Naka said that the Wii would be the perfect console for a sequel, seems it's in the bag.
The "ad" they are talking about in the magazine is an outline of the game's protagonist, and the magazine publishers for the magazine have said that it is NOT an April Fool's joke.
