Where'd Radio Allergy come from?

I wasn't expecting any more original Gamecube games, let alone ones that are sold as "Wii compatable" but not in other formats.  I'm excited about this one, but haven't seen much on it.  This is good though, as maybe small developers see developing games "compatable" with the Wii, but not requiring the new controls as a nice way to get in on the Wii's success.  I hoped the Cube would have a little more life left.

Here it is:

I just ordered mine!  Actually PRE-ordered, because Amazon says it will be available "soon", whatever that means.

20 bucks for a new game?   Sounds good.  Never heard about it.  Is this game worth buying, looks like a cell shaded shootem up.

Its gamerankings score just has a review from Nintendo Power 5/10.   Doesn't sound very good as Nintendo Power is notorius for overrating.  Or is this a case of shootemups getting slammed just for being short?     I was a huge fan of gigawing for the DreamCast yet it got slammed for being short.

Radio Allergy is a port of a Dreamcast (yes, Dreamcast) game that was released in Japan a few months back.  It's made by Milestone, which is made up of some people who did the old Compile shooters.  It's a cute game, but unless you really get into the scoring combos, it gets old pretty quick.

Actually it's like a year - year and a half old Dreamcast game.  It was okay but not brilliant according to those who played.  It didn't get amazing praise on the DC because there are a hell of a lot better shmups out and it came out at the same time as Under Defeat which is supposed to be way better.  The much superior 2nd game Karous was released on DC last month.  Despite coming out at the same time as Trigger Heart Exelica, Karous is really holding it's own.  The problem I have is that the d-pad on the GC kind of sucks.

"Kind of" sucks.  Now, the Gamecube is my second favorite console of all time, but I think you're being kind there.  The Gamecube d-pad basically doesn't exist.

I can't think of a single game in which I actually used the D-pad, and can only think of a very few that used the yellow analog.

The Wii compatible part of this title is referring to the Wii's backwards compatibility, just in case there was any confusion about Wii specific features of this GC game. Same thing as GBA games sometimes saying DS compatible in recent years.

Ok, it's official...

I HAVE TO HAVE THIS GAME!!!

I didn't think another GC game would ever be made. Hell, mine hasn't been even turned on since November (Beat Pokemon Colosseum and haven't touched it since).

Edward : NP said it is "just a bland old-school shooter in a candy-colored, cel-shaded shell." Say it offers a challenge, but no real interestring weapon managment or strategy involved. Didn't like the game mechanics, voice work or general art direction of the game. Says nothing of Wii-mote compatibility.

Mozart, you have never played PacMan Arrangement on GC? Also, if you ever have a bad camera angle, the C stick comes in handy.
