Sony has gotten themselves into another mess apparently.  Recently it was leaked out that God of War 3 for the PS3 would have rumble support.  Obviously this means that Sony is planning on redesigning their controller in the near future.  The problem is, I tend to have a lot of people over to play games, and while I enjoy 4-player action (NBA Homecourt for example), I don't see the point of buying a 3rd and 4th controller for the PS3 if they're going to be upgraded soon.

Adding insult to injury, the current controller (which feels like a second-rate PS2 model) is $50!!  That's pretty outrageous.  I suppose I'll need to buy the Xbox 360 version of new multiplayer games.

Speaking of which, anybody heard anything about Virtua Tennis 3?  The original was one of my favorite games of all time.

On a positive note, I always thought the PS2 controllers had the best vibration feedback of all, so I imagine the new PS3 controllers will be pretty darned good whenever they come out.

EVERY current gen controller is a joke for cost. How much was the wavebird when it first came out? $35? I imagine Sony and MS are cutting each others throats on so many other levels, maybe they have a gentleman's aggreement on controllers.

Nintendo, as we all know, will not give away anything, last time I felt they rewarded their customers was with Mario Allstars on SNES, we got that for $5 and some cereal box upc's when we were kids. I think the wimote is overpriced and the nunchuck is WAY overpriced, luckily I can't download VC games, I won't need a classic controller. I always used to buy 4 controllers a system  but no more. 2 is enough most of the time, my friends will be out of luck.

I agree that the nunchuck is overpriced, but I cannot say that for the Wiimote yet, because I am so amazed by it constantly.  You know how when you get a new trophy on Excite Truck you can rotate and spin the trophy any direction you want by turning and spinning the Wiimote?  Try it sometime.  It's helps you realize how accurate the sensors in the Wiimote are.  I am so amazed at the accuracy of it that I feel like the Wiimote is a bargain, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how they built all those mechanisms in there, made it so small, and made it in a way that my little brother can chuck it across the room into the wall at full speed while trying to knock down the 91 pins in Wii Bowling Power Shots, and have it still work perfectly.  I feel like they must be losing money on the Wiimotes.

Well, Wiiplay is something like $10 here if you were buying a controller anyway.  Also, the Kongas packed in with Donkey Kongas worked out to being free, as the game with Kongas retailed for about the price of a high end game (like Zelda).

Well they gave me a free Ocarina of Time Master Quest disc with my preorder of Wind Waker, a free Zelda Collector's Edition disc with one of my Gamecubes, another free one of thsoe for registering three games on their website, and a free subscription to Nintendo Power for registering three games on their website.

So I wouldn't say "never".

Well Paul, the nunchuck has the exact same sensors in it as the wimote, so I guess that extra $15 is for pointer functionality.

I'm cheap, I know, but there is nothing wrong with demanding a little more for your dollar. Ralph Nadar is my hero, so maybe that will explain a little about me.

Finally, gee whiz you guys get free stuff from Nintendo all the time! What do they have against me? I tried to get that 4 in one Zelda game for cube, but I guess they ran out. I would LOVE to have that game, I bet it goes for $50+ on EBAY.

If you don't count the light-sensing pointer, then sure.  But that's not all there is to the extra price: the wireless bluetooth connectivity and the expansion slot also add to the cost.

Ugh!  I am also neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but I can honestly say that Ralph Nader scares me far more than most people in either of those parties.  I used to consider myself a fan in his consumer reporting days: nothing wrong with reporting on problems in products produced by corporations and holding them accountable for it.  In fact, that is somewhat heroic.  But the politics he adopted with the Green Party rival those of the Red Parties of old in their "anti-life, anti-liberty, and anti-economy" factors.  May he have a nice warm place in whatever hell awaits him!

It certainly does now.  I know -- I had to buy another copy off of eBay when my previous two were stolen along with most of the rest of my collection back in September.  But I still think it is worth it.

Ralph Nadar is the man. The major issue I have with him is his drug policy, but that's another story. What kills me is how close we were in those elections.....another 48% and we would have been right there! The Dems said I threw away my vote, but obviously they threw away their canidate. Hunter S. Thompson called Ralph a Judas goat, but Nadar accomplished far more with his life than Thompson ever did. So, if the extreme Left and the Democratic Party hate Ralph as much as they do, he must be doing something right. Ralph Nadar is the greatest example today of what a represenitive republic should be, an honest, hardworking citizen leader, and I would not wish Hell on anyone, if I were you.

Maybe someday if you're lucky I'll post a  pic of my Nadar Mii, I always use him in Wii Sports Boxing, laugh out loud.

Well if I understand it correctly, they feel that Bush would have lost if he hadn't taken votes away from Gore.  Given how horrible Bush is as a President (sorry Republicans -- he is indeed crap), that's a natural response, but I don't really think Gore would have won without him in the race anyway.  Besides, Gore is himself a tyrant and I am glad he didn't get his grip on the White House.  Nothing gave me more pleasure than seeing his red face when he conceded and realizing that he had had to suffer from the pain of many tears before coming to that decision.

But let's assume they hate him for what they would call "good" reasons (which by their standards, admittedly aren't that good).  If he's so scary that even the hardcore socialists hate him, it can't possibly mean anything good.  Ultimately, all I needed to do was read the first few lines of the Green Party platform, which he claimed to agree with 100%, to know he wasn't even under consideration for my vote.
Ralph Nadar is the greatest example today of what a represenitive republic should be, an honest, hardworking citizen leader.
Eh, honesty is highly overrated.  I had a thief steel a game and Star Wars collection I had that had literally started 35 years ago with my first Odyssey, and ultimately he was honest about it.  Do you think that got me anywhere?

When someone points a gun to my head and says "Your money or your life", I have to assume that he's being honest about his intentions.  So how should we judge these people?  By their honesty?  Or by their intentions?  In situations where both won't work, I suggest the latter.  Ralph did just that when he said he agreed with that platform.

From my elightened perspective, theft is no less theft when it's done by the Government under some pretense of a law, operating under the mistaken notion that because they are the Government, any amount of violence they do is acceptible so long as enough haters throw their support behind it.

I fully realize Nader was being honest about what policies he would enact -- the problem is that the policies were horrible policies.  As I've said before, policy can be the mechanism by which human rights are protected and commerce kept among individuals.  But all it takes is a blind devil, even one who is "honest" about his intentions, to turn it into a means by which human beings herd other human beings into cattle cars.
and I would not wish Hell on anyone, if I were you.
Too late...

In any case, I generally only wish hell on those who either have delivered it to common people, or hope to.  Among the vast majority of those, it's usually been those who have served in public office, or have tried to.

Besides, hell is for devils -- even blind ones.

Send him my way so I can use him as a target in any future shooters.
