I think I am going to wait until it gets confirmed elsewhere. No offense, but this is the same site that was implying the launch didn't go well, when in fact, it outsold every console for the first 48 hours in its existence. I figure since the numbers will eventually be public (this site says they aren't supposed to have them), I'll see it sent out everywhere then.

I have no reason to doubt that it's true. I just don't want to repeat this info to others until I know for sure from a more reputable source.

Yeah, I've always thought it was stupid to think anything of a console selling out in its first 2 days. It's not as though Sony had a PS3 available for every citizen of the U.K. People who had enough money for one went out and got it first thing. The PS3 is expensive enough that you really have to be committed to get one, and if you really want one enough to spend that much cash you're probably willing to wait in line or reserve a system.

And at week three I think it is now officially okay to declare the UK launch an unmitigated disaster. Check UKresistance's story of the day. If this goes like last time, some more "official" site will have the numbers up soon.

For those not wanting to link, the short of it is UK Wii sales beat UK PS3 sales this week by a large margin, despite the fact that there are no Wiis available and there are tons of PS3s to be had, and the fact that Wii has been selling there since, what, December, and the PS3 launched three short weeks ago.
