What I am asking is for suggestions on any Japanese cd games that are worth buying. (other than the obvious choice of Castlevania Dracula X)

The great thing about the Turbo is that once you have a copy of a game you can easily play a backup copy of the game without any problems. There are no copy protection schemes at all on cd games for the duo...so...have fun playing back ups of games you own...
...(please don't flame me mozart/crevelle - just trying to help out a fellow duo owner).

Then there's Xak III and Ys IV, two very good action RPGs that have fan translations on the web. So you would need to extract the game and burn it again with the patch.

I know you specifically asked for Jap CD games but if you haven't tried Gates of Thunder or Lords of Thunder (my favorite) give them a shot. Both are incredible.

Can you only play Gate of Thunder if you buy the cd disc that has Gate of Thunder, Bonk 1 and Bonk 2 on it ? (the one that came with the Turbo Duo when it was first released) I've looked for Gate of Thunder on Ebay and that trio disc is all I've seen but I've already got Bonk's Adventure.

hmm, you might be right. I think that's the way it shipped here. On the plus side with that disk you've also got bomberman free as a hidden game. So, 4 great games for the price of one.
