Mario / Sonic crossover
I guess they're finally making a Mario and Sonic crossover: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
I'm actually kind of disappointed, as I don't like sports games. I'd much rather see them in a platformer, teaming up to defeat Dr. Robotnik and Bowser. Hopefully this at least will indicate that Sonic made it in the new Smash Bros, though...

I don't know why, but my gut tells me this game will be good. I've never got into the Sonic/Mario rivalry, but Miyamoto working with Sega is very interesting indeed. I don't think the olympic license is a bad idea, Mario and Sonic platformers are really built too different to combine. I wonder if Mario and Sonic will have to pee in a cup, though?
Hopefully they are not making this game instead of putting Sonic in Brawl, if you are going to put 3rd parties in, Sonic would seem the popular choice and a no-brainer.

I'm pretty stoked for this. It kinda brings closure to all those fights they had when I was a kid. It's a pretty big moment in video game history though. I think they pulled the trigger on this a little too late. Had this come out a few years earlier I think the buzz around it would be a little more intense. The Sonic/Mario rivalry has really cooled down since the dreamcast tanked.
Anyways, I think I'd prefer their first pairing like this. A platformer revolving around the two would probably be all over the place and confusing. At best we'd probably end up with a game like Sonic Heroes. Which isn't really bad... but it isn't really good either.
Also when's the last time we had a good track and field type game? I think we're about due one.

Anyhow, I would like to see Sonic in Smash Bros. as well, and I think there' a pretty good chance of it, but what moves would he have? All he does is jump and spin, even in 3d games. I'd like to see them think up some moves for Sonic.

If Sega was doing this game 100% on their own, I probably would write it off. We know very little about this game, but to me it sounds like a fun idea, I bet they pull it off.
I'll be surprised if Nights doesn't dissapoint its long waiting fans, thats another gut feeling.
