VideoGameCritic cut from GameRankings.com

[VideoGameCritic]

Gamerankings.com is a site that provides statistics and links for reviews from many popular video game sites.  In the past my site received a lot of traffic from gamerankings, but recently videogamecritic was DROPPED from its site list!

Apparently the way in which I periodically re-index my site (which changes link names) was problematic for the editors there. 

I emailed them and offered to coordinate with them whenever I changed my links, but they didn't seem very interested.

I think it's a shame that my site is no longer represented, since it is one of the few independently run sites, unbiased by sponsors and advertisers.  If you would like to help, please email the editors at gamerankings and kindly request that they re-include the videogamecritic.net into their site listing.  Let me know if you hear anything.

Done! I'm sorry to hear that. People are really missing out; in complete honesty, in all my years online (since 1992) I have NEVER found ANY site that has brought me more enjoyment, thoughtful forum conversation and help, and E-freinds then here on VGC....then again, the very fact that we are a small "family" of users here is one thing I like! Still, I understand you get some much needed $ kickback from links, so I'm glad to help out. Hope they re-list you, critic!

One wonders if perhaps it was exactly because you're an independant unbiased reviewer that lead to your dropping.  Can't have someone telling it like it is and mucking up the corporate-driven hype machine!

This happened a while back to another site I peruse (and contribute to from time to time) called HonestGamers.  The site was cut from GameRankings for a while.  I was never sure whether it was because of the fact that more than one staff review could exist for a given game, or because of some other reason.

Anyway, after enough complaining they added it back.  So hopefully something similar can happen here.

I'll send them an email for you Dave.  Gamerankings was how I intially found your site a few years ago.  I was doing searches for a few 3DO games and your site kept coming up, so I decided to check it out. 

It sucks that they dropped you from their site.  Plus I think your site is big enough that it  should still be there.  Hopefully if we complain enough they will put you back up.

Just mailed them. I hate GameRankings/GameFAQs/Pretty Much That Whole Family Except For Gamespot (I like GS, though their reviews suck.). My rant (won't post it on here) was very obscene and mad sounding! They better fix this! Down with corporate America! YEAH!

Wow I'm really pleased at the level of support I've seeing.  If the gameranking editors reply to any of you, please let me know.  In the meantime, keep sending those emails (if you haven't already).  And be nice!
