I just sent my email to Lee at GR.

I visit Game Rankings often (I believe that is how I found this site) and they seem to run a good show over there.  However, the VGC is needed by GR, IMHO, for the pure variety of systems and platforms that he reviews games for.

Let's hope our emails will send the word and get the VGC back in their database.

I'd write, but only if this site provided reviews for all three current systems.

But this isn't just about New Games.  This is about old games.  After all, how many websites do you know that have reviews for the CD-I?   All the game rankings listings have dozens of reviews for new games, but go back to an older game.   For example take Sonic and Knuckles, a really popular Genesis game, only has 2 reviews.

And I don't even think they have sections for more obscure systems like CDi, or if they do I can't find them.   If they want to be seen as the definite database on videogames, they need to start taking the classics more seriously.  They should have the critic back because who else has reviewed such an insane amount games?

Hmph.  That's a bit silly.  What about those magazines and sites that only review games on one of the systems?  They are included.  Why not the critic, who is only missing one of the current gen systems (through absolutely no fault of his own), AND who is reviewing far more than just three systems?

That's a little snobby.  Why does that matter?

Not only snobby, but ridiculous considering that the Critic will review Wii games with great haste as soon as one is actually available for him to purchase.

I wrote to GameRankings today.  The administrator is on my friends list on Gamespot.  Unfortunately, the missing reviews for the Wii was one of the reasons I was given today for the VGC being cut from GameRankings.

So far, I don't think he is convinced by many of the responses because at least some of them are rather rancid.  I would ask that anyone who writes to GameRankings be very friendly about this.  Don't write in an insulting manner like this is some kind of shooting match.  That kind of thing will only make it seem like a concerted organized effort to flame rather than a spontaneous showing of dissatisfaction.  The administrator of the site is a very reasonable guy, thus I fully expect he'll listen to reasonable complaints.  I think he'll dismiss everything else outright.

Yeah, that's a pretty lame reason.  Don't they have anough Wii reviewers already?  The Wii section has 91 reviews already.   But look at the Jaguar section of the site.  Many of the games don't even have 1 review.    The critic has reviewed almost every Jaguar game, probably because he enjoys pain, so he could really complete the collection.   Is gamerankings just looking to be a resource for new games, but not old games?  I don't understand that, that is a stupid reason.  Yeah, I'll write him, and don't worry, I'll be nice.
