[QUOTE=Crevalle]Square Enix recently agreed to strongly support the PSP.  This, together with the price cut, will prove successful.

I don't much care about this debate one way or the other anymore, as the battle is well and truly over, but if they were actually that concerned with supporting the PSP, they'd have given it the latest Dragon Quest.  I mean, how hard is it to port over the look and feel from the PS2 Dragon Quest to the PSP, rather than to the DS?  They can say whatever they want to, but having your biggest game in your biggest market go to the other guy when it'd probably be easier to stay with the company you were already working with says a whole lot more.

The fact is, the PSP hasn't done what Sony expected.  Now, that doesn't mean it's a failure.  If they take what they learn and turn it into something good, this could be well worth it.  Look at the N-Gage.  Most of you probably just think of it as a failed handheld that Nokia should have dropped much quicker.  Meanwhile, they're putting the name to great use in their new smartphones, and now know more than enough to become the only choice in mobile phone gaming.  I mean, what other phone companies have an Xbox live like online service, a "try before you buy" download service, and a lineup of games that are actually more like console games than cellphone games?  The N-Gage system didn't do too well, but I would be surprised if mobile phone gaming wasn't 100% synonymous with Nokia in a couple years.  It looks pretty good so far.

Don't forget that Square Enix is also giving a TON of support for the DS, so I think the point is probably moot.

And you're a Sony fanboy who'll manipulate the facts to justify the clearly noticable mistakes they've made.  I, Dave, and many other people are objectively looking at the situation and making an educated analysis of what's happening.

Oh, and by the way, remember that the DS was in similarly dire straights in its first 6 months, but at least they realized it quickly enough to change the situation.  You can't say the same for Sony with PSP.

Personally I am dying for a PSP but still think it is too expensive for a handheld so I'm waiting for the price to come down further.  Then again with the new WipEout game coming I may not be able to hold out.

I actually see quite a few PSP games that look fun to me. Daxter, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, and Powerstone Collection are all must haves for me. Nonetheless, I still think the price is too high. $150 is probably the max I'd ever pay for a handheld (original price of the DS), and I really wouldn't buy the PSP until it was down to the price of the DS Lite ($130). I like that Sony is finally cutting the price to be a bit more reasonable; now I just need them to take it one step further.

Ok I hate you also. Hope you burn in hell. I'm a Sony fanboy that hates ps3 and never plans on purchasing it. ok. I love it when people here start calling anyone that disagree's a fanboy. How about this. Anybody that uses the word fanboy from now on is the fanboy.

Actually things were being looked at objectively until VGC decided to add is totally biased and uncreative. Black handheld going to die...etc... Wrong again.

I never said that the psp was going to do great. I just don't think its going to die. At least not die right away. This isn't sega now. My prognosis is that it will live a normal life at least like that of a console. like 4 to 5 years then they will die. Of course that's not great for handhelds but it's long enough to be not considered to be a failure.
