Where are the Final Fantasy reviews???

The critic doesn't play or enjoy RPGs.  He's explained this many times.

I found the censorship of DN64 to be hillarious.  They replace a porno store with a gun store.  Is that supposed to be an improvement?   But I guess it fits in with American values, so what the heck?

Regardless, the N64 version is probably the best console version.   They added 3d explosions and it has the best graphics and levels.   Also there are "dukebots" for the multiplayer., and the weapons in the N64 are probably the best.  In some ways it is better than the PC version.

@ m0zart: I second you on the gun store versus porn hut comment.

What I remember about DN is that in the PC version, you could go into a script file of some sort of alter stuff.

Of course, being a teenager at the time, I altered the gore so that about a billion limbs and eyeballs and crap flew out of every bad guy you took down.

The first time a tried it, it crashed my computer.

Good times! (-:

Yu guys must have it rough. "I need my porno store back!!!!" Duke Nukem had pixelated women anyway. I remember a friend playing the pc game at school and having the women flash their boobs when you "made it rain." It was rather childish. I don't care if there is a gun store in its place. The game is fun without the t&a aspect.I know that the women aspect made it famous but if you look had enough you'll find some women dressed in nothing more than vines throughout the n64 game. In the end I rented it to play a solid game, no for the sexual content.

I really don't care about morales in videogames and it pissed me off to no end that Nintendo censored Nukem 64.  Didn't they learn their lesson after Mortal Kombat I (SNES)?  Sure its a family console, but you know what?  Older people that have seen a pair of tits in real life also play the system and they don't mind that crap.

They were so pixelated and blurry it was more funny than anything.  Plus it was absurd that he would care so much about saving some coked out strippers.  It was like they took Al Bundy from Married with Children, gave him a gun and deepened his voice.  Pretty much a sure-fired formula for a successful character if you ask me.

Is this supposed to be sarcastic?  I'm just am pointing out that it is ironic that the game is insanely violent, but even a hint of sexuality (aka heavily pixilated strippers) is too much.   The ESRB seems to follow that model also with Dead or Alive beach volleyball getting an M rating and Smash TV getting a T rating.

And Andrew, it isn't that big of a deal, I'm just saying I find it funny. Playing the game and seeing the gunstore there had a surreal appeal to it, and felt like an SNL skit or something.  I'm sure there isn't a person in the world who plays Duke Nukem to get off.

Amen to both points.

Well, I just got Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown (the PS1 port) in the mail today, and I have to say that it's probably my favorite port.  Primitive but functional dual-analog support, an AMAZING framerate/game speed, and the dearth of original PC content won me over.  What I'm not so hot about is the redrawn enemy/Duke sprites, but the corpses and strippers look the same, which is all that matters.  I would definately check this version out Critic.  It stands head over heels above the Saturn version.

Do you still think the saturn version is worth an A, or are you gonna rescore it?

Nope, it still gets an A.  While the other two ports are better, it's still one of the best FPSs (and games period) on the Saturn.
