I remember playing some text Star Trek game a long time ago. It was a pretty old dos game I believe. Does anyone know the name of it?

There wasn't much we could do, it was one of those "it was deleted a month ago" senarios.  But again we did keep the board game, which is worth a pretty penny today i'm sure!

There's first contact (not related to movie), Promethean Prophecy and Kobayashi Alternative. Perhaps there's a few others as well

I remember the Promethean Prophecy!  Text-based game wherein no matter how hard I tried to get the shields up or the ship out of the line of Romulan fire, all I got was Sulu fiddling with the controls and muttering, "I'll do what I can, sir."

Star Trek Elite Force for the PC is considered by most critics to be the best Star Trek game.  I've never seen Star Trek so I will only judge it from a gameplay perspective.  This game made some of the best use of the Quake 3 engine ever and felt like Halflife Opposing Force in space.

It is an awesome game and is one of my favorite FPS.   you should defiantly play it for the PC if you can. Its 7 years old so any modern day computer should be able to play it, even the budget ones.  I have never played the PS2 version, but it got bad reviews and they said it was a lackluster port.

I remember beaming down to some "Shakespearian" planet and getting killed no matter what I did.
