This is the dumbest thing I have ever posted, so enjoy. But, I feel like I have to voice this somewhere, so here goes:

Everytime I open a Wii game and it is the size of a PS2 game/ DVD/ CD, it disappoints me that it is not small like Gamecube games. It feels like it is a step backwards in technology.

The funny thing is that I know in my head that the Gamecube discs were inferior to Xbox/ PS2 discs. It's comical and irrational, but that's how I feel.

I understand how you feel.  DVDs are really boring.  Those mini-disks were one thing that distinguished the GameCube.  They were cool.

But don't the Wii disks look awsome?

I've been really blown away

Must be bored to think that way. Gamecube disks held too little information and multiple disks were often needed. Well maybe its me; I don't care about size, that's why I play 12" vinyl records over cd's.

Yeah, I'd say they were the only thing that distinguished the Gamecube (not counting games), but I think the Wii has plenty that makes it unique already. All the little Gamecube discs did was make it so less data could be put on Gamecube games, or games would need multiple discs. Plus, I think the Wii discs look pretty cool, even if they are standard size.

I used to do that, until I realized that any CD except those released early in the compact disk age truly do sound better than vinyl.  I realize both formats have their issues, but I don't believe the hassle of vinyl is worth the trouble.

Oh yes they were! I remember when I first played a Gamecube at my cousin's house in 2002... I had seen pictures of the Gamecube before, but when I finally saw that tiny little purple box and micro-sized discs (not to mention the graphics), it really blew me away. I was thinking, "How could something so small be so much more powerful than my Nintendo 64?"

Often?  How many games needed multiple discs?

You're not stupid. You're nostalgic. I feel the same way about 4-8K atari cartridges, the ones by Imagic especially were cool.
I don't think people play Vinyl or cassete or even 8-track over CD, they just GREW UP with that, and Retro is cool.

Heck, I think the 2K Odyssey2 carts are SUPER cool with that handle and graphics and EXCLAMATION POINTS!
