The Video Game Critic

Getting away from nextgen topics for a moment, does anyone have recent dreams , I mean WEIRD ones, about videogame stuff?

'Cause I don't know why-I haven't played DONKEY KONG in ages- but last night I dreamed I was stranded on an island with a beautiful blonde girl when suddenly DONKEY KONG appeared and grabbed her. He hopped from island to island (no construction site) yelling DOOOONKEY KONG! And yes, I was dressed like Mario and was using a hammer to hit the barrels he was throwing at me while I chased him. That was EXTREMELY bizzare because, honest, I've never had a thing for Blondes!

Ok, can anyone top that?

I've had a lot of videogame-related dreams.  I remember one time when I was playing Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, I woke up in the middle of the night and imagined seeing all kinds of small dinosaurs running around the bed.  It was really a half-dream, and I was standing on the bed and freaking out.

I dream about highschool over and over and over again....

Never about videogames, though.

I used to play those dang text adventure games on my computer as a kid so much I would actually dream in text (open door, walk north, etc).

One time I dreamt I was playing a very elaborate virtual reality game. In the game I was a cyber commando of some kind, and I had to run through an infested shopping mall with all sorts of advanced space-marine-like weapons as I slaughtered these giant cockroach things that were spewing from every conceivable corner. It was like Star Trooper meets Dawn of the Dead.

I had dreams with videogame themes like being a soldier, driver or investigator but it was pretty much always set in a real world setting. One ocassion I was shot  repeatdely by a robot in the shoulder and removed about a dozen slugs from it while eating at a Belle Province restaurant while talking to my brother layer on in the dream.

I experienced what some have called "Tetris Syndrome" when my sister first introduced me to Dr. Mario.  After experiencing the game for the first time and playing for a few hours, that night I dreamed of the little colored blocks coming down.

But that's not what you seem to be talking about.
