The Video Game Critic

Well, I am from New York and you guys are from Maryland. You have heard of the Virginia Tech Massacre a couple days ago. It's pretty bad to know about. It is without a doubt, the worst school shooting since 1999 with Columbine.

Jack Thompson is up to his no good things again. He was heard on the news. I never saw it on TV but some people had it on YouTube. Thompson said on the day of the shooting when the guy wasn't yet identified, he goes on saying the killer played violent games. Is that the only thing he can come up with? Video games?. This guy has tried to block off Rockstar's games of GTA IV, and Manhunt 2 for the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. Thompson has never done anything right at all! The people on YouTube who wrote comments said he is bad and stuff like that. What we got here is a lawyer who has never won a case in video game suings and stuff but he is still trying to block stuff

This has got to stop. Why can't we just have fun with our games and have politicians and other protesters leave gamers alone with their lies and crap?

At least one guy is from Maryland -- the VGC.  But "we [you] guys" are not from Maryland.  We are from all over.

I live in Houston, Texas now, but I grew up about an hour away from Blacksburg, Virginia.  I almost went to VT for school after graduating High School, and I have friends and relatives who go there now.  One friend and one indirect acquaintance were involved in this incident, the latter being shot.  So there's a lot going on right now and it's hard to make out from those who were there what actually happened.  Given that someone so close to the action and with some direct links can't tell what actually went on with reliable knowledge just yet, I doubt some half-@#$% lawyer in Florida can either.

The fact that people even pay attention to Jack Thompson is the only reason anyone even know his name.  He hasn't done anything to the industry and he is the modern day equal to someone like Joseph McCarthy calling everyone and their brother communists back in the day.  He is on a constant witch-hunt and he will never stop.  Stop talking about someone as vile and worthless and Jack Thompson...if everyone stops paying attention to him and giving him free press he might go away.  Basically he just used the murder of 32 innocent people to get on his videogame soapbox again.  Its truly disgusting.

Its so easy to blame someone else which really annoys me. Constantly parents blame violent videogames but there the ones buying them. The truth is parents need to be blamed for not raising their kids right and finding out what their doing. The bottom line is that the amount of gamers who take game overly seriously is well under 1%. I heard on the radio on the day of the murders was that videogames train people how to kill. Thats the dumbest thing I've heard this year. Didn't realize a keyboard and mouse and/or controller makes you an firearms expert.

Playing Turok 2 was like having an explosive drilling bullet shot into your head though.

I guess I'm the guy perpetuating this stereotype about modeling action from videogames.  A few years back I hijacked a giant flying ostrich and totally lanced people until they turned into eggs, which I then destroyed / ate (I was never real clear on that part).  I apologize for my part in creating this media frenzy.
