Change to Videogamecritic.com?

This site has been videogamecritic.net for at least seven years now, and I also have had thevideogamecritic.net for that long.  About three years ago I bought videogamecritic.com and videogamecritics.com.  All three point you to videogamecritic.net. 

Sometimes I wonder if I should make videogamecritic.com the main URL, and have videogamecritic.net point to that.  The benefit would be that most people recognize and remember .com easier.  Few major sites use .net, so it would look more profressional.

The downside would be my search engine rankings.  Although videogamecritic.com would really be the same site, all the sites linking to it are going to .net, so it could send my rank plummeting.  Still, I wonder if it's worth the short-term pain in order to establish myself long term.

Well... what are you selling?  If nothing, I'd say stick with the .net.  Damn "profressional"-ism!

But if you put in .com it leads you to .net anyway, so it's sort of both .com and .net. Converting the URL to .com would be pointless.

I would make the change.  The rankings will eventually shift to the .com address.  Plus you could eventually drop the .net domain expense.

Dave,  I gotta tell ya buddy, whenever I tell people about your site I just tell them to go to "videogamecritic.com" because I know they'll remember it and it points over to .net anyway.  I don't see what you buy by 'changing' it now.
