Far Cry Instincts Predator

Last summer I put a lot of time into Far Cry Instincts, a great jungle-based first-person shooter.  Recently I picked up Far Cry Instincts Predator for the 360.  Billed as "Two games in one: also includes enhanced Far Cry Instincts".

So I start up the game, and both Instincts and Evolution are on the menu, but only Instincts is unlocked!  I started playing it, and it was the same game that I played on the Xbox albeit with some slightly enhanced graphics.  So am I expected to play through this game again in order to access the new Evolution story?!  The manual isn't worth a crap, and I'm confused.  Help!

This part really bugs me these days.  I mean, how hard is it to include a few sheets of paper with the game?  Atariage and Packrat games manage to do that much, and they're run by hobbyists producing games for 30 year old systems.

Most of the game is the same as the original Xbox title, and yes you have to complete it before getting to the short Evolution mode.

Go to the cheat screen and type in FeralAttack to unlock it.

Having anything locked in any game never ceased to annoy the living crap out of me.  I've paid full price for the game, and you're telling me you're only going to ALLOW me to play a very small subset of the game until you've deemed me worthy enough to let me access more of it?  I'll tell you what, I'll drop my beef with locked content in games the day they start selling the games for a price based on the fraction you're allowed to play right out of the box.  If only 20% of the game is unlocked the first time I've turned it on, I want to be charged only 20% of the price.  If completing that 20% then leads to another 20% being unlocked, charge me that additional 20% and so on.  I would love to meet whatever freakin' moron started the videogame industry down the path of locked content so I could punch him in the kidneys.

Oh boy. It would seem this is the Ninja Gaiden Black scenario all over again.

Unlockable stuff in games has gotten out of hand I have to say. They ad the balance about right ten years ago, when there was usually bonus material to find as a reward without having to do God knows what boring things to get the best parts of the game.

That being said, a trip to Gamefaqs is usually all it takes to relieve this particular woe as by and large there will be cheat codes to obtain what you are loking for.

I'm playing through FC:I:Evolution right now on Xbox after beating the first one, and I have to say you aren't missing much.  The first FC:I is better in every respect except gun selection, and even that doesn't really cut it.  To be fair, there are some sections that are free-roam to remedy the fairly linear path of the first one, but they're few and far between.  Not to mention that you shoot the SAME DAMN THREE ASIAN GUYS the entire game, and there's infinite respawn points (the game killer in my mind).

I'm playing through the Wii version right now also, and it isn't faring any better.
