The Video Game Critic

After having a dream about getting one last night, I got up early this morning and headed over Toys R Us with my wife.  There was already a mob of people there at 8:30.  Luckily, they had a huge shipment: 59 units!  Since my wife was with me, we also grabbed one for my buddy Steve.  I've finally acquired the Holy Grail of gaming, and I'm giddy as a schoolgirl.

Naturally, it's the nicest day of the year, so I have to go play tennis and work on the yard.  Why couldn't it have been rainy?  Nonetheless, you can bet a stream of Wii reviews will be forthcoming!

So, which games did you get, or are you planning on picking up in the near future?

I'm gonna look forward to the VGC saying "you know, the Wii is alot more fun then the PS3".

My advice to the VGC, and any Wii-buyer is this...........buy a few extra remotes, buy "Excite Truck", then invite a few friends over, play "Excite Truck" and "Wii Bowling" together, and have the time of your life!

I'd also recommend "Marble Mania" and "Super Paper Mario" for solo-gaming.

But you see, the Holy Grail is extremely difficult to find, it requires many hardships and sacrifices......now will the Wii be worth the trouble  the Critic had finding it?

Toys R Us DOES get the largest shipment of Wiis out of all retailers in NA. Well done, VGC!

Now you have an interesting challenge before you. The major game review sites have been blowing their Wii reviews (i.e. "Twilight Princess is too short. It should be 500 hours, etc. etc). It will be interesting to see if your Wii reviews will match many game players feelings (rather than hardcore nerdy reviewers).

Wii really was the "holy grail of gaming" for guys like me. I didn't own a Gamecube. My NES and SNES are no longer working, and I never owned a Genesis, Turbographix 16, and a Nintendo 64. With all this 'backwards' consoles included in it, the Wii has the value of 'godly console' to me.

Could you tell us about the crowds you were with? Were they mostly parents in line? Did anyone not get a Wii that was in line? I've heard of Best Buys selling out and employees being shocked that people still line up.

I just gave my friend who works at gamestop the money for one so hopefully I will be getting one within the next month. Congratulations VGC I know you've been waiting to get it for a long time. I hope its everything you had hoped for.
