Google Text Ads not as good?

When I first started with the Google "adsense" ads on my site, I thought they were pretty good. Unobtrusive on the page, they linked to legitimate sites related to the page itself.
But lately I've noticed that a lot of the ads are crap. Some are just links to ebay, and others point to sites that don't appear very repuatable.
I think Google needs to start screening their ads better. I'm sure they're happy to take the money now, but in the long run people will stop using those links.
Currently the Google ads are only generating a few bucks a month, and I'm thinking about removing them.
Thoughts?

I say remove them since they not only take away from the look of the site, but if they send people to sites with no merit then its not worth it. If the ads brought in LOTS of money, I'd say to keep them, however that doesnt seem to be the case. I bet there are better ways to bring in that money that you would lose by deleating those ads. Sadly, its finals week for me and I have a huge Spanish exam tomorrow at 9 AM, so I can't think about ways to make up the money. I will try though, but I think if we all throught about it we would come up with a way.

I don't think Google checks them very well. I heard once that they got caught having some ads for child porn once.

I've also seen ads for malware programs that install spyware through google ads.

I'm giving these google ads another chance. Google has offered a suggestion list, so I'm going to make some changes to see if they help. The first is on the bottom on the main page. It's a search box that lets you search google or this site! That could be pretty useful, so give it a try and let me know what you think.

The Google ads do seem like a better fit now. One was for a site that sold coin op arcade stuff, another was some sort of "fill in a bunch of stuff to get this free game" deals (those are generally proven to be legit, if you can stand the complicated process they make you go through and of course count on you not to). The other one I saw was through Amazon.
