Which current 3D platforming mascots or characters from any other genre do you think would make the best fighting game contestants?

Personally, I think Kratos would be an awesome choice.  I mean, think about it.  He already has an insane amount of combos and swordpower.  He would have to be a bit more balanced, but otherwise the transition would be flawless.

I also think that the Prince of Persia would make a good fighter.  Lots of his technique would be focused around aerial combos and blocking incoming high attacks.  Of course, all of his time abilities would be stripped, and his "speed kill" combos from Two Thrones could be his throws.

Rayman would make an interesting fighter, simply because the fact that he's limbless could make for some long-distance attacks.  However, being French, he would probably surrender before the fight even began.

Oh yeah, and the T shape from Tetris would OWN ALL.

Ryu from Ninja Gaiden would make an interesting choice as well, as would some Star Wars universe characters (though they should get a better treatment than they did in Teras Kasi *shudders*)

Even if it sucked, I'd buy 12 copies.

Space Invaders Vs. Asteroids! The invaders would stomp those rocks to dust, while mama ship swallows the little saucers!

Also PONG vs. Maio Tennis, Pong would move faster everytime 'cause he's just one fast line!

TANK vs. Battlezone! Sorry, as much as I like tank, the little shapes would be crushed beneath the treads of the 3-D game!

We should send these ideas to a publisher. I only want an 85%
royalty fee!

Bonk vs Sonic

The Bonk vs Mario being too obvious of course.  We'll get Sonic against Mario come Smash Brothers which will be entertaining as well.

Hmm, how about Jade from Beyond Good and Evil versus Bastila from KOTOR?

Belmont against Dracula would make for a nice diversion as well.

How about the Microsoft dork against the Apple hippy from Apple's commercials?  Just imagine the MS blue screen of death fatality...

Samus Aran versus the Master Chief. Total ownage.
