Bring on some computer games

PC games are video games as well. Bring on the Diable II: LOD, Age of Empires, Doom, Battlefield, and Civilization review I say.

*sigh*, VG guy, the critic doesn't even have all the classic SYSTEMS (like Astrocade), he's sure not going to get old computers. I collect old computers and wish there were sites I knew of that reviewed COCO, TI994A and other games. (I knew of one COCO site once that started "www.icepeople..?" I can't remember the rest. Anyone know? www.atariprotos.com has some atari computer proto reviews, also the 5200 games are quite similiar to 5200 ones, and some are exactly the same!

If you mean MORDERN PC no way! The critic is buried in work as it is, how could he also do Windows game reviews (or mac for that matter?) .... but still, if YOU want to review a computer game, do so in reader reviews! I'll read it, if it's not sports or RPG!

PC games are  pain to review because you have to always update your system, or downgrade for older games. At least  hefty commitment to a console ensures 3 -5 years new material, not 6 - 12 months.. Besides Dave, please review F1 championship edition for the PS3. Played it yesterday, simply amazing for formula one fans such as myself. An A title for me though its still not worth me spending a couple grand to play it.

I think that might be starting to happen. There is on RPG that is coming to Wii that is from a PC developer (can't remember the name, but it's on one of the bigger Nintendo blogs, Gonintendo.com or nintendowiifanboy.com). It isn't a particularly big name, but I think you will start to see this happen. It makes too much sense, and there are too many mid range PC developers that could afford a $3000 Wii dev kit for this to not happen.

I don't see the Wii remote working well with RTS games at all.

I think the remote would work just fine for RTS. It gives you a similar mouse control.

Where you might run into some problems is lack of true high def, other than 480p. One of the main reasons that the RTS genre is so native to PC is that the tiny characters are much easier to discern on a high definition screen of some kind.

I tried the Lord of the Rings RTS for the 360, and grew frustrated with the tiny text and hard to see characters on my standard def TV. I remember much the same frustration when I played Command and Conquer on the PS1.

You could do a purpose built RTS, however, if you made the characters larger and easier to see.

I'm thinking something like "Mushroom Kingdom: War of the Goombas"

I've felt for a while that the Wii and the DS are the perfect place for point-and-click adventures.  So this is good news.

... but I have a feeling they will change the name of the game before it is actually released
