I think you needed to clarify which title you were talking about in your subject line. This is for Umbrella Chronicles, and this is really old news. It does bother me to some extent that it is a light gun game on rails, but light gun games are not always trashy or easy, so I am not so sure this game will be easy just because it is a light gun game and not an RE4 clone.
Finally, RE4 for the Wii, so far at least, doesn't seem to have been dumbed down at all. So obviously this news blurb you've given is not proof positive that EVERY third party game for the Wii is going to be "easy".

Yes, this is old news on this forum, and at first I thought it was going to suck... until I saw the footage on IGN, which gave me alot more hope. It seems to have significantly more depth than normal on-rails shooters. I am not saying it is a sure-fire hit, but I think it looks alot more promising than it sounds.

Well, lets just hope they include a hard mode, that you don't have to beat the game to unlock(ala RE 4). Unlockable difficulties is the stupidest thing anyways. If I want to play a game on the hardest difficulty, I shouldn't have to beat the game on medium first.

I don't think they are saying it is "simple" as far as how challenging it is, I think they mean the control scheme, which I think is a dumb excuse to not make one more similar to RE4. Obviously it can be done because apparently the next Metroid does an awesome job.

I hope they release that gun shell for the wii-mote soon. Holding the remote to shoot ala Wii-Play is not very comfortable.
