Is DS your GBA?
All you DS owners...do you find yourself playing GBA games on your system more than actual DS games? I have lately. Since I got Super Princess Peach, nothing good on DS has come out. I HATED Wario:Master of Disguise, and while Cooking Mama and Beatmania got good reviews, I'm getting tired of Stylus games. I want a DS game that uses "normal" controls like New SMB.
Also, GBA games are being blown out at cheap prices right now so it's a good time to buy (much like when I got my GBA, I got a lot of cheap GBColor games)...I DO like some stylus games like Polarium and Feel the magic, it's just that the DS has become too "POINT" heavy for me lately. I hope someone makes a good DS Platform or Adventure game that does NOT use the stylus soon!

Is DS your GBA?
Yes I have retired my GBA since I purchased my DS. The true "nail in the coffin" was when I purchased my GBA player for my Gamecube. I haven't used my GBA in years.
Alienblue, here are a few DS games that might be up your alley.
Theme Park - This is based on the old PC game from the folks at Bullfrog. It is a simulation in which you build an amusement park from the ground up. You may like you may not...if it digs its claws into you though, be prepared to loss countless hours of sleep. Its one of the most addicitive games of all time.
Puzzle Quest - Here is a quirky game that looks like an RPG but its actually a PUZZLE game! Instead of normal "battles" you have to play a game that resembles "Bejeweled". Its a whacky and addicitive game that most people haven't heard of. It got stellar reviews though.
Konami Classics Series: - Zen told me to get this game and I couldn't have been happier. Its classic Konami arcade games on a DS cart. You can't go wrong with this one.
Kirby Squeak Squad - Its a classic 2D Kirby adventure game. Very little in the way of touch controls. It won't blow you away, but its still a worthy purchase for DS fans.

I would definitely use the DS as a GBA player if it would just let me remap the DS buttons. For whatever reason I always want to use Y and B. It's forever making me commit a Mario suicide. I'm just not re-trainable.

Never, like another poster said it doesn't work well as far as the button configuration goes with games like the Mario Advance series. Its heavier and less comfortable to use for long periods than a GBA SP in my hands, and I have a original DS so the screen on my SP2 is far superior.
I like my GBA more so I use that for GBA games. DS is only used for occasionally playing my 4 DS games.

I sometimes use my DS as a GBA, but it's rare. 99% of the time, my Gameboy Player is my GBA, while my DS Lite is my DS -- and both of them get played regularly.

I do use my DS as a GBA. It's handy and the price is right on GBA games, that's for sure.
I don't seem to have the same problem regarding not finding enough games for the DS that use traditional controls.
You have, off the top of my head (all at least decently reviewed games that are more or less traditionally controlled):
The 2 Castlevania Games (mostly traditional controls)
Advance Wars 2
Contact (highly underrated action RPG)
The Pokemon Stuff
Spectrobes (A highly rated Pokemon wannabe)
Legend of the Unemployed Ninja (Dungeon Crawling RPG)
The 2 Spiderman games
Star Wars Episode III
TMNT
Lunar Knights (Okay, it might be a bit more stylus controlled, but it is supposed to be a terrific RPG by Hideo Kojima, so its worth mentioning)
That's just what I can think of. Some of these games can be had as cheaply as a GBA title these days (Star Wars and Ultimate Spiderman come to mind).

I played Puzzle Quest for about 8 hours or so and yes, it is very addictive. The PSP has some glitches (developer, not hardware) that detracts from the fun but I still found the game engaging. The only problem is that I just got bored with it after 8 hours. I thought the gameplay was repetitive after a while. Don't get me wrong, a cool game but I couldn't see myself playing the 40 hours I've heard it takes to complete it.

The only time I use my DS to play GBA games is if they're turn-based. Otherwise, I use my Micro.

Is DS your GBA?
I sold my GBA when DS came in.
Wish I could recommend some could DS games Alienblue, but I haven't got any myself for a while. I'm trying to find Advance Wars DS for a good price, but alas, it has become rare. Also, is it just me, or are more and more DS games bumping up to the $35 range? I was in the metropolis Sunday and they were asking $40 for Zelda DS preorder. No Sale!

I don't primarily pay GBA games on my DS, but my DS is my GBA player. You get used to having the controls backwards on Mario and other GBA games after a while, but I do admit it was annoying at first.
