What US released console is the biggest failure?

My top ten, with #1 being the biggest 'goat'.

10. Nuon-enabled DVD game systems (2001) (Toshiba SD-2300, et al.)
09. Philips CD-i (1991)
08. Commodore C64 GS (1990)
07. Amiga CD32 (1993) - this did OK in the UK release
06. Memorex VIS (1994)
05. Commodore CDTV (1991)
04. Bandai Pippin @World (1995)
03. Pioneer LaserActive (1993)
02. Capcom CPS Changer (1994)
01. RDI Halcion (1984)

Your thoughts/list?

Wow, I hadn't heard of most of those systems. The nuon thing was an interesting attempt, that's for sure!

Strange you didn't put the Virtual Boy on the list. It certainly has fun games, though.

Hm, where's the tiger game.com? That sucked pretty badly. I don't believe I've ever even seen one.

Did the successor to the Turbo-Grafx come out in America? If so that has to be a contender.

Considering I have only heard of about 3 of those, I'd say those are definitely failures.

No, Japan only. But yeah, considering that it was in essence "Turbografx with slightly better graphics", and had a grand total of 6 games released for it (though it did play regular Turbografx/PC Engine games) would certainly grant it a place on the list.

I thought the Pioneer Laseractive was a Japan only console?  You had your choice of a PC-Engine or Genesis box to go with it to generate the sprites or you could pick up both for something like $1300 at the time.  Big surprise it flopped.

The Pioneer LaserActive was released in the US in 1993, with a $970 price tag.  The Sega and NEC add-on(s) were initially sold for $599 - a piece!

The RDI Halcyon was the most expensive console ever released - $2,000 in 1984.  And what did this system ever provide gaming-wise - 2 games.  Wow!

I can't find an article about the Halcion everywhere, and I'm really curious about it. Could someone find a link to one?
