That's why I own Skate or Die and games like that. They may have had an ounce of coolness way back but they are complete trash now but I still prefer to own them. I told a friend recently that owning crap games does serve a purpose as it fills gaps in an actual collection. I don't know, I used to have a collection of only games I loved and the whole thing seemed like it was missing something.

Oh yeah, collectors must collect...I do not play Baseball, football or B-ball, or wrestling, games But I've bought every CLASSIC version of these games I found to complete my Atari 2600 / 5200 / 7800 etc... collections. I draw the line at 16 bit sports though!

My Gamecube collection is insanely huge and full of games I have played once or twice. I got into a "gotta collect them all attitude" with Cube for some reason. Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Paper Mario, Doshin the Giant all was played for probably a total of 3 times. (I never cracked Paper Mario or Doshin).
I probably liked collecting Gamecube games b/c it had the smallest library and it was easy to get all of the exclusives.

I never buy a title without an intention to play it; that said, I have TONS of games I've bought but have never played. I buy them thinking "This looks cool, I'll have to grab this while I can so I have it available to play whenever I get the time..." but then I never seem to get the time. Maybe one of these days, but until then I have shelves of games that have never been touched.

I have the same mentality that you have. I buy all of my games with the intention of playing them, but I just don't get around to doing it. I'm not as bad as you. I don't have shelves of games I haven't played, but if I keep going at this rate, one day I will.
