Your Best Buys?

Postby Anayo1 » May 14th, 2007, 8:45 pm

My beautiful Sega Genesis collection came nigh-entirely from Goodwill. Both systems cost $10. All games cost $3-$2 each. I think Shadow was $2.

My little SNES collection did too. System cost $15. Games were all $3, except for Super Metroid which was $2.

Nice, Anayo!

I got a Genesis system, complete in its original box, at Goodwill for $4.99 last year.  Same place, I also found a GameGear on the shelf for another $3.99.  Works great and is complete with the battery covers.

Got an NES for $5 at the Salvation Army... but it was sans controllers, game or adaptor.  I had a dead AT&T answering machine that supplied the adaptor, got controllers from the flea market for $1 and $2, and the test cartridge was a Duck Hunt/SMB I got at Gamestop for a paltry $0.45 or so.

Somehow those are more exciting stories for me than the Genesis, 2600, Color GameBoy and Playstation that were given to me by my crazy across-the-street neighbor as she was clearing out extra "stuff" she'd accumulated around her house.  She also had a Columns cart for the GameGear... that was cool.

By the way, this all happened between fall 2005 and summer 2006.

Sorry to all of you who've heard this story before.
