The Goonies
I vaguely remember playing a Goonies game on my old Atari computer back in the day, in which you alternated between two characters that had to cooperate to get past traps. Have there been any other Goonies games and were they any good?

Goonies 2 on NES is a decent platformer. You use a Yo-Yo ala Startropics.

Goonies II for the NES. I remember loving that game as kid. Its incredibly hard and it plays like sort of like Zelda II: Adventure's of Link. If I remember correctly you are trying to save a Mermaid or something. I still have the cart lying around somewhere. Maybe I should give it another go.

In what way does it play like Zelda II? It's mostly a linear area-to-area platformer. There's no overworld to explore, and no leveling up in life, magic, or attack. Not really any bosses either. You backtrack some within the same level, but not between levels.

[/QUOTE]Well seeing how I haven't played the game in some 16 odd years it was more of a rather vague guess. I just remember doing alot of exploring (no overworld map though), and you got different items as you advanced. When I posted it this morning Zelda II was the only thing that popped into my head.

I beat that game in 2 weeks, and I think the confusion with Zelda is Goonies2 is the most "RPG-like" game I ever played all the way through. It wasn't a true RPG of course, but you DID have item/weapon select screens and had to find and "talk to" certtain people. I loved that game-The Eskimoes and Penguins were a great touch and Annie the mermaid was Sooo cute! (:
BTW-on another site I discovered there WAS a Japan-only Goonies one, pretty much an all-action version!

Man, how many really powerful speeches did that kid get in that movie?
Still, you have to love it. Asian stereotype and all.
Anyone got a Baby Ruth?
